You know what? I'm an atheist too, but some atheist make a religion out of being an atheist. Really, don't let it rub you so wrong that it says "In God we trust"...it doesn't say who "we" are. Relax. Be free.

Marking it out would serve no purpose. It's our national motto. It shouldn't be--it feeds the mistaken idea held by selfish and impressionable Christians that this country belongs to them exclusively, and E Pluribus Unum is so much more appropriate--but striking through a printed word on paper money won't change the fact.

We believers in freedom of religion and separation of church and state have to find a better way to honor the wisdom of the founders and rebuild those parts of the wall of separation that the extremists have been trying to tear down.

No thanks.

You must not be an atheist. A true atheist wouldn't waste his time fighting a God that doesn't exist.

Maybe you should just repent and get saved. You're acting like a convicted sinner in denial.

I think it should be changed it to "In Vishnu We Trust". If atheists can put up with "God", Christians can try putting up with Vishnu for awhile.

NO. Its better than "In Communist" or "In Jesus" or "In Islam" or "In Devil", "In Government", "In Hebrew", "In Presidents", "In Uncle Sam" or "In Earth". It's an idea of the highest order. If there is a God, he gave us the right to choose Right from Wrong, Good and Evil, Ying and Yang, to be lazy or work hard, to murder verses to kill, Freedom verses Slavery. If not for God we would have no TRUST.

I think you need to move to another country where the majority of people are not Christians. You atheists are so funny..using all the principals that this "christian" nation was founded on.. BTW...I will pray for you...

Sure. I already practice pseudo-civil disobedience by refusing to say the pledge.

oh come on. fight for something more useful- there's genocide going on in Darfur, put your energy towards advocating that we do something about it instead of being worried about what it says on a piece of paper
