ALL prayers are answered. The trick is knowing how to hear that answer, or even where to look for the answer.

Yeah, an answer to your prayers doesn't always mean getting what you want, sometimes the answer is "no," and sometimes it's "not now."
I've also noticed that to get an answer to my prayer I have to be 100% willing to act according to the answer either way, and sometimes it takes a while to get that way.
For example, I used to always pray if I should marry this guy I was dating, I was so frustrated because it just seemed like I wasn't getting an answer, and then I realized it was because I didn't really want to marry him then and there, and I didn't really want to break up with him either, when I realized that, I took a month or so, to re-evaluate the relationship and get myself in a position where I honestly felt like I could either marry the guy, or break up with him. Yeah, I suddenly got a quick, clear answer to break up with him.
Kind of a random story, but I hope that helps a bit.

All prayers go unanswered, because no-one is listening other than the humans who hear it . But a lot of times, people pray for things that were going to happen anyway.

I think it can be true that God doesn't answer a prayer if it isn't what's really supposed to happen. I prayed and prayed for my first husband to come back to me - what a crock! God knew he was a jerk and I didn't need that stuff! It was the best unanswered prayer I ever prayed!

All prayers are answered, just because he didn't answer them the way we would like doesn't mean that they are unanswered. He knows what his plan is for us. Who are we to try and alter that with what we want?

Believe it or not, God answers all prayers offered in a spirit of faith. Many time the answer isn't clear until after we can see what would have happened if we got our way and didn't give God the time to act in our lives. Everything I have seen mankind do ends up in a mess. Don't worry He will leave plenty for you to do too...Jim

One of the greatest blessings God can give is an "unanswered" prayer.

Unanswered could just mean WAIT. Your idea of when you want something is not necessarily on God's time. A few weeks or months of waiting for an answer is nothing in God's eternity...

God hears our every prayer--He knows the desires of our hearts without our ever even speaking. Even when you pray to God for something you feel like you think is best for you or a loved one no matter how right it may seem, if it doesn't happen don't get angry at God. He always has a plan and it is never to harm us even when we cannot understand it at all. Hope is hearing the melody of the future. Faith is being able to dance to it!
