I understand why ancient civilizations needed it. This is how they explained everthing they did not understand. Why, in our modern age of reason do so many still cling to these ancient ideas? ...and many times in the face of evidence that suggests otherwise..

I am Mormon, but I have never learned or been taught anything about the Chrisitan "rapture"..so any mormon's out there - i don't think we believe in it but I am not sure if we believe it is something else...

I really want to go, but I'm too depressed because my sisters keep lying on me & spreading false rumors about me, saying I molest & beat on their children which is not true. If that's the case, then why do they keep me babysitting thier children? I've moved away from them, & moved to a different state, but they're still harrassing me & falsely accusing me.

I'm not gonna let myself feel guilty about doing something that I KNOW I never did. But I feel depressed & scared about my life, but at the same time, apathetic. I'm afraid of false criminal charges.

I do want to go to bible class & learn more about my creator, but after those lies were inflicted upon me, I feel unwelcome there. Please help & motivate me. Does the heavenly father know the truth that I NEVER harmed my sisters' children? Will he believe in me?

For instance...Barack Obama has african-american father and Caucasian mother...he claims to be african-american. Isn't he just as caucasian as he is African-American... 50/50? Tiger Woods has an African-American father and a Phillipino mother...he claims to be African-American. Isn't he also just as Phillipino as he is African-American? When Tiger and his caucasian wife have children will they be African-American or caucasian?
I have Native American in my family -tree. How much native-american ancestry do I need in order to claim that I am Native-American? Does my Great-grand mother count? Is that enough? Has the government written a standard of identity for each race? As races continue to intermix how does one know what to claim themselves?

My ex-girlfriend's little sister was ill since birth with a very rare syndrome, and she died yesterday. I was very fond of her, and she liked me a lot as well. She always swore she'd steal me from her older sister and marry me; I suppose I was her first crush. It's very important to me that I pay my respects.

However, I'm not certain her older sister ever wants to see me again, especially at this difficult time in her life, and I'm fairly sure her parents hold a grudge against me as well. It's been a few years since our breakup, though, and I never did anything exactly disrespectful or disrespectable to my ex; I just left her without much of an explanation, which I know she resented.

Please help me decide what to do-- I'd love to be supportive, but I absolutely don't want to cause anyone pain.

These people that merely stand behind a camera all day, or a studio trying to make some insipid chart topping hit make millions of dollars a year while a fireman doesn’t make enough to live well on. They are called noble sometimes and have prestigious awards given to them for doing something so insignificant that it shouldn’t even be acknowledged as great. The problem is that we are the ones that place them in the limelight. We provide them with the money they make year after year. Of course if I were a star I would want to be paid for my work too, not that I would deserve it. However, I guess they suffer from the fame they receive also. The conditions are not always the most pleasant, some have to be hospitalized for exhaustion, and never have a moment’s privacy. But still, I think of other people, mothers that work crappy jobs with no respect that get injured and have to come home to an unclean house much worse. Of course in our unfair and misguided world my whined is pointless and contradictory to my own wants. However, I will continue to download movies and music without giving these talentless greedy one hit wonder artist my hard earned cash so they can buy a thousand dollar pair of underwear.

ok here's the thing...i love being hugged and always want to be hugged and i hug a lot also!....a month ago i had a serious panick attack and i started praying and for some reason, i felt someone hugging me and whne i feel asleep i saw this girl hugging me and she was asking me if it was ok if she let me go, will i be ok....i was just wondering what all of this meant? was she my angel? why do i alwasy want to be huggeD?
