Before I took Shahada I thought Muslims were NUTS! I only knew what the television told me and I did not want to research and find the truth because i had no reason to. I made a friend that was a muslim and our children played together, 9/11 was hard on her and honestly it strained our frienship a little so I would do a little research here and there to find out about these "crazy" people.
I became tolereant of Muslims and would defend my muslim friends when people would insult them, after 7 years of studying i said shahada, alhamdu lillah.
Islam has changed my life for the better. I will say that i am too hard on myself sometimes but remember that islam is supposed to be easy, and that God is most gracious most merciful so that helps alot.

I seriously thought about converting once in a spiritual crisis, because everything seemed so black and white in Islam. I never entertained becoming Xtian, because I think it is a false religion. But nothing is ever black and white. Its all shades of grey to me, so it couldnt have worked. I am a proud Jew, and I wouldnt have it any other way.
