There is great verbal violence against people who believe different than others. Isn't it time to stop, to try to understand, to support people in their beliefs even if you do not agree.

The rubber meets the road in "Free of speech" for example, when you protect my right to say something that you disagree with.

that makes you a bigot. I think we need to ask these questions. I think that's were all the ignorance comes from...the lack of knowledge. That's the problem with race in America. Too many people have shoved their question into the back of the closet and never get the information they need so they make stereotypes and assumption. Asking racial questions don't make you a bigot, even answering them in a niave way doesn't make you a bigot. Not asking them at all and learning something form them makes me think about you. No. you may not always like the answer, but sometimes you really can learn something form the good and negative answers.

I have never read the bible before and many of the stories are unknown to me...

I had a dream one night (i was intoxicated that night) and there was a few things that i later found out were very similar to stories in the bible.

For one, I was trapped in between Hell and Earth, and a dead person was telling me to go back, spread the word of God on Earth.

and when i went back to earth with the help of two spirits, I appeared in a White House, with white walls, very bright white lights, and a white man was standing there (topless, with White pants) and welcomed me. He then proceeded to torture someone in front of me, and with every slash of the knife, the tortured man's blood would splash on the wall, giving out the silouhette of Satan's face (horns and all)

I picked up a bible the next day and found very similar stories.....such as the Devil may try to disappoint you, and present himself as the Angel of Light....

What are the meaning of my dreams??

It is not exactly a cure for depression. I tried it. A personal prayer life is more powerful.

I totally believe that people have the right to practice any religion they want, but I will admit that I am highly suspicious of any "religion" that segregates their congregation based on economic fortitude. Also, what is the science behind scientology?
If there are any actual scientologists out there ( not the fad believers) I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say.

I am curious to know how they are formed, how they work in protecting children and teens from inappropriate media displays of all kinds, and what kind of influence they have in politics or in the community in general.

the Bible says that anyone who proclaims a belief in Christ will be beheaded. Now if Christians are gone, the most numerous religion in the world would be Islam. Aren't they the ones who like to cut off heads, anyway?

I'm saying that not everything in the bible was the word of god. A lot of it was an answer to people's prayers in person, made to a priest. the priest wrote the words, and presented them as gospel.

When people believed the gospel, it was written in the book.

When people found the writing, and put the writing into the hands of more preachers, people began to argue. When the people argued, the words were rewritten. The words were made more understandable, in the language they were written originally.

I'm just wondering, how from the entire bible, not ONE sentence was written for personal gain. How not one sentence was written for arguments sake, to make the person who wrote the words more correct. To silence the infidels, and to create a handhold for believers to use and to believe more readily in the bible.

I am Muslim, but I beleive that many things said to us by Allah (swt) in the Quran is metaphorical. And it is so hard for me to beleive that Shaytan really, truly whispers in our ear and tells us to do bad things. I think that just as there is purity in all of us, that all of us also carry our own "Shaytan" inside of us, and we are judged according to the way we handle the struggle between ourselves.

Anybody agree? Disagree? I'd love you hear your opinion. But if anybody tells me that all religions are fairytales, I'll flag you.

What's the story behind pinning dollar bills to your shirt on your birthday? Do people do this any other time, or all the time? How many dollars are you supposed to pin to yourself? Apparently it's a black person thing popular in schools. I've only seen one person do it, but other people have mentioned it and we couldn't figure out why people would do something that silly.

I was just wondering why it is that when Desis realize that a fellow indian is actually from Trinidad or Guyana they express a look of disgust? Anyone from a Desi family in which they hear why their parents may or may not like Trinidadian or Guyanese Indians? Do they think they are really/ truly Indian, being that they practice the same religion (Hinduism). From my personal experience, after a desi individual speaks to me in Hindi and realizes that I am not from India they are revolted. Why is this? Does the younger generation think the same way?
