What do unemployment rates have to do with a countries greatness?
Sad how few people in this country can't even form a logical question now days.

Canada is a very nice place to visit. It is mostly made up of what Americans call "small towns" widely spaced apart along with a few large cities. As a regular visitor from the US to Canada I must say I enjoyed my time there. The people are friendly and polite. The land is beautiful. The roads are VERY WELL maintained. The differences between the US and Canada are noticeable but not scary, such as visiting Germany or Spain might be.
The financially successful Canadians leave for the US primarily because of high taxes. I understand for the moderately successful middle income family tax levels approach 60%. Prices for almost everything are more expensive than US prices. However, Canadians seem ok with they way things run up there. As an American I found that being humble while visiting makes the visits more fun than not.
The society has decided to do things more liberally than the US but since they pay the taxes thats fine by me. Also Canada has a much smaller population than the US, maybe 20%, so there are fewer opportunities for some Canadians.

The Unites States count the unemployed differently than Canada. I do not know about the USA, but in Canada, only people who receive unemploymenty benefits but are available for work count as unemployed. Those who lose unemployment benefits but have not yet found a job are not counted. So the real unemployment rate in Canada is probably higher. Why is there more unemployment in Canada, and is there comparatively more job creation in Canada than in the USA? I do not know, but a deeper analysis would reveal that there are certain structural obstacles to job creation in Canada that do not exist in the USA.
As for actors from Canada who are in the USA, like Jim Carrey, they were recruited to go there. You can send them back to Canada!

The "unemployed" are actually people who sell pot, since it's legal to do so up there.
Sounds like a good reason to me, anyway.
