Would the US, Brittain, France or Isreal do it if they were being attacked or bullied by a country they couldn't defend themself from in any other way?

I hate it. I hate when someone pretends they're taking a moment out of their so-called busy day to walk up and waste my time to tell me how hot it is outside. I'm sweating my butt off too. If you're going to make the nice gesture of speaking to me, at least make it personal. I always have something to say that's not small talk. What's so hard about it? "It's a pretty day"...yeah, so? I have eyes! I can see how nice it is outside. Don't get me wrong, I love talking to people. I am a pretty outgoing guy. But I just can't stand the small talk.

Can someone sell me on the idea that there might actually be a point to it? Or does everyone else secretly hate it as much as me?

Recent government studies show that we could drastically reduce the amount we pay to house our inmates by outsourcing them to India and Mexico.

Okay, this guy and I are very good friends online. He's taken, I'm not, and this is not a date or an attempt to take him away, I am just stopping by a park tomorrow where his band is playing to meet him (he knows I'm coming) and hear the show, m-a-y-b-e go for coffee afterwards. But I would like to make a good impression, as he works in clothing retail in his other job, and it may be the only time we meet, or only time for quite a while.

I am pretty but quite a bit overweight in the belly and thighs. What shall I wear?:

Matching medium-tones green and blue flowered blouse and skirt to ankles that I've had many compliments on?

Same blouse, knee length denim skirt?

Lighter blue print top that really sets off my blue eyes, one of my best features? Either of those tops and a navy cotton knee length skirt?

Please let me know which to wear. Guys' and girls' comments welcome. And, being that this is in a park -- flat sandals? Wedge heels? THANKS FOR THE HELP!! Can't wait to meet him!

Have anyone read Waiting for Godot? If not, Beckett makes an allusion to two theives in John where one is saved and the other is damned, but he doesn't say why? Does anyone know?

How does one make sense out of a god sending his son (also a god) to suffer as an outcast and then be brutally killed in order to open up the gates of heaven? How does a rational person buy into that?

I was raised in a family with a ton of different religions and different sects. From Buddhism, Catholocism, Baptists, Muslim, Juddahism, Wiccan, etc. Oh yeah my great gradparent were cherokee and so were considered pagan. So you can imagine I have had a really hard time deciding who is right/wrong. I have spent a lot of time studying religions. I think everyone thinks that theirs is the right one etc. Here are my conclusions and what I believe. After studying the dead sea scrolls, I came to the conclusion that the bible can only be read for "lessons" but not as fact. There is a God or Creator. There are angels and we also have guardian angels and people from past lives who help us.
We are all re-incarnated. Including Jesus (as Adam, Elijah, Moses, (the first Buddha and many others) We should respect all teachings of God not just that of the Bible etc. This includes current writings. Hell is more of a state of mind. Not permanant.

It is a little tough to be accepted by both races. Black people dont think that I am black enough and they think that I am stuck up or something simply because I am lighter and Mexican people automatically think that I dont speak spanish or that I am full black. What can I do to better fit in, thisd will probably be tough right. Yet both races always tell me that I am so pretty and things like that but they dont fully accept me,it is weird. I grew up with my Mexican side of my family and I am guessing that I behave that way. I am always being judged saying that I dont talk like a black person, I dont know how a black person should talk. ...

Just stumbled across this refutation of Pascal's Wager ("Why don't you believe anyway....just in case?" to the uninitiated). It's an interesting concept -- in order to assure that only morally good people go to heaven, he purposely stacks the deck to give the appearance of either no god or an evil god, then sits back to see what you do....will you remain a moral person even under threat of torture by a cosmic bully; or will you kowtow to someone who may very likely evil, out of fear of punishment or hope of reward? Check it out for yourself, and let's hear what you think...:

How does being caucasian make you superior to some one who is more intellectually inclined than you? What makes being caucasian superior to anyone? You're a flat out racist, for no reason. And on top of that, you don't even know what you are lol. Do you feel that poor of yourself as a person? I'm tired of your bullshitt posts and answers. Get lost slutt! There's no room for people like you in America, or Italy, or Palestine, or wherever you want to PRETEND you're from.

When I go to visit my older sister at NYU, all of the girls in her dorm ask me if I am Jewish. I'm actually not any religion at all, and I'm ethnically Italian and English.

There is this common room on her floor at the dorm., and when I was cooking dinner all of the girls were in there listing which celebrities were Jewish and who "looked it."

please answer if you are Jewish, do you often think about if another person is Jewish when you meet them? Are you really eager to know? if so, why?

I'm sorry if I'm being ignorant but my family is Catholic but when I meet someone I never think about their religion, I just want to know them as a person.
Also, I've never asked anyone what their religion is, certainly not when I first meet them. I have never cared about the religion of any celebrities . I'm not saying it is wrong, maybe it's a cultural difference?

ps the Jewish girls were very friendly but I just found it intrusive, I guess because I'm not used to it.

simple as that. my friends profile showed what the human body is made up of, and how science has proved that there is no God. Also, reading on here I've seen people saying how the bible and all of that is mythical. Can someone please give me a couple reasons to keep believing in God, and another reason as to why God IS real.

I'm 54, male, live alone, no kids. My life is mess and sometimes I think about giving it up. But I got to knw a boy who´s now 15. His family situation is kinda bad, his mom died when he was 2 yo and he lives with a friend of mine who he calls mom. Fr about a year I've helped this kid as I can. I became a kind of father fgure to him. Now there's a link beteween us, I worry about the boy, he's part f my life. Some days ago he was really down and I told him life is a gift from God, things will get better, he's not alone in his teen years, etc. A lot of things I myself don't belive at age 54
This boy has been a wondeful experience for a man who couldnt have kids, but I was on the verge of taking my own life. I'm still a very depressed man. If I take my life, how will this impact the boy? I dont understand why God put this boy in the life of a troubled man like me.

Islamic history tells that when prophet Muahmemd conquered Mecca, he gave a list of 10 names for people whom should be killed wherever they were found, even if they were inside the Ka'aba (the most holy place for Msulims). Among those people was a woman with the name of Sara. The reason prophet Muhammed killed her was because she went to him once asking for some charity because she was broke, and prophet Muhammed gave her money and food on hope she might convert to Islam, but she took the money and food and returned back to her town without converting to Islam.

That story raises many questions:
1- Is refusing to conver to islam should be punished by DEATH?
2- Was being a Muslim a condition to receive charity?
3- Why did prophet Muhammed violate the many Quranic verses that gave immune for people who enter the Ka'aba (the most holy place for Muslims)?
