Just stumbled across this refutation of Pascal's Wager ("Why don't you believe anyway....just in case?" to the uninitiated). It's an interesting concept -- in order to assure that only morally good people go to heaven, he purposely stacks the deck to give the appearance of either no god or an evil god, then sits back to see what you do....will you remain a moral person even under threat of torture by a cosmic bully; or will you kowtow to someone who may very likely evil, out of fear of punishment or hope of reward? Check it out for yourself, and let's hear what you think...:

So.....if it turns out that the biblegod really WANTED us to reject the bible all along, will all you nontheists laugh when you look down and see the bible thumpers and Jesus freaks roasting in Hell? Or will you ask Joe Hovah to show mercy and open the doors of heaven to THEM as well?

Pascal's wager is not aimed at nonbelievers, but is instead just another in the bag of apologetic tricks to keep the faithful faithful.

Those who don't start with the assumption that the Christian god is real see right through its stupidity.
