I've visited or lived in all of these cities and I'd have to weigh in and vote for Portland. Great laid back atmosphere. Close to ocean and mountains. Decent economy and OK cost of living. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the cities on your list, but I'm partial to Portland.

Ive been in all those cities and then some. With the exception of Toronto. And Denver is the best. bar none! The people are friendly, there is almost no crime, the view is awesome. It has one of the smallest waistlines in the country. Something to do with everyone there likes to go outdoors and do something. Keeps them skinny. But the best thing about Denver is they have the most sunny days out of the year. More than any of the other cities.
Denver is by far the best choice.
But you really need to visit all those choices to see what you like and dislike in each.
Good luck

Seattle or Denver... I lived in Seattle for 10 years. It's pricy but a great town all around... you're never without something to do- especially if you enjoy the outdoors. I never lived in Denver but I've been told it's a good place to live- I enjoy visiting.... lots of things to do outdoors summer or winter!

Atlanta--it's REALLY growing, and the weather is warm in relation to the other places on your list. Portland is beautiful, but it rains too much for me.
