Campaigning rock star Bono, who has made a major impact with Make Poverty History and global debt cancellation initiatives, is in hot water with development and church groups over the justice of his own finances.

Along with Irish politicians, they are expressing surprise and dismay at U2's decision to move part of its multi-million pound operation from Ireland to Amsterdam, where the tax rate on royalty earnings is miniscule – and the Christian Council for Monetary Justice (CCMJ) says this is just one part of a global money system gone badly wrong.

The singer and his band U2 are facing for accusations of hypocrisy for switching their financial affairs to avoid paying higher taxes in Ireland, while berating the parsimony of rich country leaders and calling for public funds to go into financing debt relief for poor nations.

What do you think?

Many Muslims and Christians like to point to what they call "devolution" (like when whales turned from being land mammals with legs back to living in the oceans with flippers) as evidence against evolution. They think that evolution means improvement and that all evolution is in the direction of higher life-forms. This is not true, evolution merely means "change over time" and that change can be perceived by those who judge it to be positive or negative. Natural selection simply means that whatever changes are most adaptive to the current environment are more likely to survive. Any so called "devolution" is still evolution.

after telling them I'm not interested, if they persist, I have two solutions:

a) just hang up

b) put my kid on the phone. He'll agree to buy whatever they're selling, if they'll sing the Barney song with him. Then he hangs up.

Is this too rude? If so, how do you get rid of these irritating people?

I've seen some really mean posts about muslims and I think it is very insulting to us muslims. please don't get all mad. Its really not fair that people just autimactically think that all muslims blow up things because they hear it on the news. Take somr time to learn about muslims before you judge.

I just saw a video on yahoo about an old lady who taught Sunday school at a church, and she's been teaching there almost all her life. One day, she suddenly got fired, just because she was a woman. That was the ONLY resaon. And it was an unanimous desicion by the church board.
Now, if that's not being discrimitary towards women, I don't know what it. Also not that it was a pretty big church, not some unknown church.

They seem to worship Mary, Idols, and their Pope yet the bible never said to do any of these things. They also seem to have added some things to the Holy Bible.

I find all of this hype about snakes on planes to be overrated. We have poisonous snakes every Sunday at our church. Sometimes I even wrap one around my head and do a little jig while I sing praises to the Lord. Jesus protects us from the deadly snakes and I don't see how it would be any different at 40000 feet.

Now there was Issac that got bit a few weeks ago. He's in a coma now but that's because he was trying to do snakes and holy rolling at the same time but we only do holy rolling on Thursdays. In an airplane though you're way up there even closer to Jesus so I think as long as you're a Christian you would be A-OK.

Have you accepted Jesus as your personal snake-defying saviour?

I'm training to be a teacher. My partner is a Chef. We both work pretty hard and unless I'm very much mistaken, these are good jobs and they used to be respected.
Once I've qualified, we've decided that we're off - France, Spain .... anywhere but Albion. It isn't because we want to go - we'd love to move down to Cornwall or Dorset instead - except that we'd never be able to afford our own home, we'd be taxed up to our eyeballs for the rest of our lives and then inheritance tax would wallop our kids when we are dead.

By all accounts, we're not the only ones running away from this state of affairs, so my question is - who will be left when all the qualified, hardworking people have gone, and who will pay any tax??
