From an ex-hell-on-wheels atheist, no it isn't stupid. Most people when they are young, like you, think they are invulnerable and they know it all. As you get wiser, you realize how little we do know, and what is truly important in life. I'm sure you will get there also.

Having lived life without God, and then learning the truth and embracing a life WITH God, I can only tell you that, even though my life got harder in some areas, I know that I am not alone, that even after I have mucked everything up so bad that I can still be forgiven and move forward in it, and that when this life is over, I will reap the benefits of the promises that He made because He's not a man that He should lie.
I guess the better question of stupidity is, have you at least studied this issue of the existence of God, or are you just parroting what everyone else says? Because THAT would be stupid.

Not at all lady. It is people with your attitude that are stupid. This is not judging, just fact and I think God will forgive me for it. The Word, the Faith, the Truth is there forall to read and if you don't, what will your excuse be in front of the White Throne. You can't say "No one told me", because we as Christians spread the plan of salvation on here everyday.. God ahead, live your evil way, disregard God's Plan and see where you end up.

One day, when you are in the presence of God and you are asked who you believe in, I hope you will say God.
And yes, even if you don't believe in God in your only life, you can still be accepted into heaven!
The whole non-believers go to hell right after they die stuff isn't real.
But you will still be held accountable for your actions, believer or not!
And hey seriously, find some questions with a point to it. I don't spend my time asking athiests why they don't believe. I leave them alone and respect them. Your questions are kinda futile and a waste of your own time, nevermind the fact that they stir up controversy for no reason.

So, since you don't believe in God, that means you're at least somewhat open to the idea of evolution.
Your quesiton shows lack of forthought, understanding, correct english grammar, sentence structure, which adequitely demonstrates a lack of critical thinking skills that would be found in an adult.
So in your own limited lack of understanding thinking technique you have used this forum as a platform to not only portray your own ignorance (a La' english skills) but your lack of understanding of God while pushing your own agenda of evolution?

People believe in God because He is real, and that is the only reason. it's not stupid, it's life, and it's more than life. He's eternal, and more powerful than anyone can ever understand.
also, for the future, if you want to irk Christians, by all means, insult us again. if you wish for discussion, present a rational argument that can be dealt with in a human fashion.

whoever made this question is mentally unstable. of course god exists and if you dont want to accept something more in your life than just living thats your problem. your brain sounds too small to understand something as big as a higher power. you need to see beyond the physical things god gave you and start seeing the spiritual. i hope someday you get better. and remember, God loves you!

Why do you say omg. What's that mean. It means Oh My God. If you don't believe in Him why do you call him your God. So where are you going to go when you die? I suppose no where, you'll just be gone, forgotten. No heaven, no hell, no God, no Angels, no Devil. Unexplained things are just our imagination.
Sounds to me like you are the one that is stupid.
