I just saw a video on yahoo about an old lady who taught Sunday school at a church, and she's been teaching there almost all her life. One day, she suddenly got fired, just because she was a woman. That was the ONLY resaon. And it was an unanimous desicion by the church board.
Now, if that's not being discrimitary towards women, I don't know what it. Also not that it was a pretty big church, not some unknown church.

Well, that will certainly put the Christian community in yet another bad light.

...and I'm *sure* it's just because she was a woman. I don't buy that. My grandma teaches sunday school every sunday and has for years.

Christians are accused of being sexist because of the different roles men and women play. Men and women are equal, and to be treated with equal respect and dignity. Yet we do not posses the exact same characteristics. Men are built different than women. Our emotions are different. Our thinking is different. This isn't just religion, this is science. There's a huge emphasis on mixing up gender roles in this society and it's f'd.

I have no problem with women wanting to have a job. Yet, why is it so hard for a man to have a job that pays enough money to support a wife and family? If both the husband and wife have to work who's taking care of the kids?

I think it really goes back to the rejection of family, the rejection of community, the rejection of everything that's not absolutely self-serving.

We can not do this (life) on our own. We need one another. So you can tell me you're an indpendant woman all you want to. Then why is it you want such a strong man?

Yet a weak man (someone who's willing to be submissive to his partner, out of love) is such a terrible thing? I know the real answer. Because that "weak" man wants the same thing back, you to be submissive to him. If were such strong entities without each other than why be together.

People need to stop lying to each other.

side note: People are sexist, racist, fascist, and any other -ist and -ism you want to throw on us. Don't put that on religion. That has to do with our own free will.

sorry to get off subject count yet that frikken oregon flower is this way of ****! your question is under no circumstances bashing all and sundry, it somewhat is affirming certainty and asking an trouble-free harmless question.. there is a few thing incorrect with that bi+ch ok .. i'm off my rant now it would not advise that christians are sexist in basic terms because of the fact they follow the bible. on condition that they follow the sexist areas

I saw this on the news last night. It is in the Bible that women are not supposed to teach men. It depends on the age of the class, I suppose.

The adult mixed classes in our church are taught by men. Of course, the women usually teach the kids.

I doubt that was the reason or the only reason...why? Just because she said so on the internet?

If that's true, it makes the officials of that church sexist - not all Christians.
