Considering that the United States has more people in prison than any other country on this planet- with as high as 10% of our population incarcarated- theres a pretty good chance that not only is this a potential political time bomb, but it would also cause rioting, and complete social revolution.

Right now, with so many people in prisons, theres already a ground swell against more prisons and more people being put there for stupid crap. No, it won't happen- this would be political sucide when people can't visit their own loved ones who simply got arrested for smoking a joint

England tried that. In the 1800's, they sent their criminals to Australia. It was commonly referred to as "being transported," and was regarded as punishment just short of the death penalty. It worked for a while. Then they found it created more problems than it solved. You'll notice they don't do it any more.

OH GOD NO. What a terrible idea. We already outsource enough, jobs, products. WTF!!!
It would be impossible for them to have visitors, we would have little to no control or what was really going on.

Good Idea. We ought to get that rumor started to scare some from committing crimes. The other countries aren't under the 8th amendment rule!

If you do that, there will be hundreds of thousands of people out of work. America loves prisons and justice (another word for revenge) and muchof our economy revolves around prisons. Will never happen.

Now that is an incredible idea. Unfortunately, I'm sure it would never work. There'd be too much crying about how their loved ones can't visit them. Boo hoo.
