Why did prophet Muhammed order a woman to be killed for refusing to convert to Islam?

Question

Islamic history tells that when prophet Muahmemd conquered Mecca, he gave a list of 10 names for people whom should be killed wherever they were found, even if they were inside the Ka'aba (the most holy place for Msulims). Among those people was a woman with the name of Sara. The reason prophet Muhammed killed her was because she went to him once asking for some charity because she was broke, and prophet Muhammed gave her money and food on hope she might convert to Islam, but she took the money and food and returned back to her town without converting to Islam.

That story raises many questions:
1- Is refusing to conver to islam should be punished by DEATH?
2- Was being a Muslim a condition to receive charity?
3- Why did prophet Muhammed violate the many Quranic verses that gave immune for people who enter the Ka'aba (the most holy place for Muslims)?

Islam originated on the foundation of war and total compliance. Among Mohameds first move upon the acceptance of his new philosophy was to invade Mecca, from the city of Medina, which is where he got his foothold. He started it as a visionary called by God, but ultimately used it to his personal advantage for financial gain and power. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti Islam, but its in the history books.

I can't answer your questions. Islam seems to be anti-women and a rather unreasonable and unreasoning religion in some ways. There are conflicting sects and murder in the name of Allah is okeydokey. However, I think that the original religious concept has become horribly perverted over time.

If Muslims forces people to convert to Islam or kill them, how come ther are so much Christians here in Egypt and many other Islamic Counties?
When Prophet Muhammed (Saws) Entered Meccah He was Victorious even this was without a drop pf blood, He has the ability to punish people thier as they attacked Muslims many times in some places to prevent Islam from spreading, But he told them Go you are free I forgave you :) that's our Islam calls for Forgiveness
Well I mentioned that most of people here talking about islam accuse it as a Slavery, Killing, Anti-Women, Polygamy ..etc. and I want to tell you all you have got all this information from wrong sources and mixed with a different Events. If you look for example at the point of Polygamy you will find that before Islam there were no rules or limitations for marriage, Men were marrying more than 10 women plus SLAVES, Islam was came to limit this Marriages up to 4 only, Why not 1 this is long to explian but I will just say hints, what if there are Wars and women became Multiples numbers of men there will be women without marriage plus the Widows women, Allah gave the men right to marry 2 or 3 or 4 at most with a very hard rules to Equally treat them in everything and any neglection will be hardly punished so if you can take this hard situation then marry more than 1 woman, if you can't and you are not sure of equally treat between your wives then Enough 1, plus Allah recommended just one wife in the Holy Quraan, Plus many other reasons makes the polygamy imprtant when needed.
Also Slavery were exist before Islam in very very bad picture but Islam was came to get people from this condition to non-slavery life, it's too hard to just order people at once to get rid of all slaves while they used to have Slaves as Servants, so Islam came with some rules that decrease of slavery step by step, like when someone kills other Muslim by fault (not intention) he may solve this by liberating or free a slave if he has slaves, and it was recommended for Muslims to set free thier slaves when converting to Islam as they are normal people and must have freedom like others, it wasn't forcing.
there was no age or religion gave women thier rights like Islam :) Covering thier body is not taking away thier rights, it makes them more respected and protected, maybe you can't understand this because you left in very different culture for your whole life, But if you ask Muslims women here now they are proud of putting Scarf and covering thier bodies except whom deny to stick to this. One example for this, When Prophet Muhammed went to Al-Madinah City its people Dealed with him as thier leader there were women between them, which is Elections this Days.
I won't talk about Bombing and Killing people, if there are bad people whom didn't understand the Islam or whom trying to give bad view of the Islam whom killing people and bombing without a reason, it's not the Islam problem, there are Christians, Jews and so many whom doing very bad things like killing , bombing, Stealing banks, and so , you cant judge on Religion because some of people don't practice it right.
