...apparently, as long as I sweeten people up by saying "Listen to this, this is good, this is about good things you like," I can then sell them on ANYTHING from drowning babies to starting war with the wrong country. As long as I PREFACE what I say with a vague assertation of it's "goodness" or "patriotism" I actually get to redefine goodness and patriotism. I'm catching on!

Please add more than one if you can't pick a favorite. Include Catholic or Protestant or both, plus any comments you might have about the book(s). Thank you!

He wasn't a Christian, but no one can deny that he was a good man. If someone like Ghandi (not to mention thousands of other good, non-Christian people) was cast into hell, I don't think I can get behind the idea of Christianity. It just seems completly wrong to me.

Your thoughts?

In your school, during P.E., are you ever made to go shirts vs. skins when playing team sports. My family just moved to the States, and I had never heard of this before. Have you ever played the shirts vs. skins?

They always turn away from men for looking at their chest. Is it because they want them to admire their brain instead? If so, why do they reveal their chest more.

We are seeing more and more of their brain, but still they keep using more and more ways to make their chest stick out.

It bugs me because the part of the country I'm from most of us aren't and the ones that are are only a little chubby.......and when I went to Europe, I saw more "fat" people over there than here (And no, they weren't American tourists).

I guess I just don't want people from other countries to think "fat" when ever they think of America.

Why would an infinitely more complex being have such simplistic emotions, and such, like us? This seems to me like He is more a creation of mankind, than the opposite. If this is the reason Zeus and the Greek gods are unrealistic to us, then why don't modern fundies transfer that same rationale to their God?

Do you think that this verse could mean that Jesus wants us to join our suffering with His when we carry our cross so that our suffering won't be in vain?

"Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is LACKING in the afflictions of Christ on behalf of his body, which is the church," -Colossians 1:24

We as humans do know some things. One thing is that most people don't have much of a clue what is really going on, religiously, spiritually, and politically. It all may seem like a big conspiracy.
Why are we not in the loop you may ask?
Well, who is to trust you. What do you have to offer humanity?
Do your selfish needs and personal salvation blind you? (hmm)
The REAL conspiracy is this.----
That you don't matter, that you will never know, that you can't contribute, that your dreams aren't attainable.
The kicker is, who sold you into this conspiracy, YOU did.

Even if they're children were healthy, 6000 years wouldn't be long enough for all this diversity to come into being. And why would God create different races when that causes conflict? Perhaps the different races are product of evolution?
