There are two hundred million faithful angels(200,000,000) living in heaven and doing God's will.These are on God's side. There are 100,000,000 (one hundred million) unfaithful angels that were cast out of heaven along with Satan, God's enemy in 1914. These are now the demon angels that wreak havoc on earth. Revelation 12: 9, 12.

It's all about free will. The ones who followed Lucifer during the rebellion in Heaven had the same options as Lucifer and every other angel there. They simply made the choice that ultimately said they'd rather rule in Hell than be a servant in Heaven.

Before the world was created, Lucifer was an Ark angle, the angel of light. He thought he should be better than God, and he convinced 1/3 of the angels as well. Lucifer is now known as Satan, and his followers and him went to hell for their pride and jealousy.
