Yes. Parents are not disciplining their children, teachers are not disciplining pupils no one repects the Police. 11 year olds are having kids, Binge drinking is absoloutly everywhere, the justice system is an absolute joke (i refer to the monster who raped a 3 year old child and will probably get out of jail in 5 years).Political Correctness is causing division throughout the whole country. I could go on, but its too depressing.

Have to agree with 'gingajen'

OK, Going to rant... !

This country is going to hell in a handbasket and it is going to get a whole lot worse before it... explodes. What, you thought I'd say 'gets better' ? Not a chance.

For the purpose of this answer, moral, integrity and society are all closely intertwined, each affecting the other - and the UK is in freefall for something terrible beyond words.

And no, I'm not talking (entirely) about terrorist threats or the fact (apparently) 1 in 10 people living in the 'Great Britain' aren't even from the UK!

I don't hold with racists or the idiots that support them, but the idea that in literally a decade or two our population have increased a staggering 10% due to countless 'foreigners' pouring in, seeing this country as a soft touch for a rent free house, benefits etc etc... The mind boggles

(And yes, I know a number of immigrants are hard working etc etc... read on before biting my head off)

The problem and the fault started to become noticable in the late 80's, apparent in the 90's and, after years of neglect, frankly stupid laws and general incompetance from Tony Blair's Labour party we have reached the point in the 21st century where social reforms and political correctness have destroyed this "once great country"

I really don't 'do' politics, but when you reach the point that social and moral atrocities are the meat and veg headlines and bylines in every single daily newspaper and weekly regional/local paper...

Time was bankrupcy was a huge social stigma, a blot for years marking a person as a failure, or worse.

Come the 90's, terms like "Phoenix Companies" was almost a byword in the computer industry. Runl up vast debts, but paying out huge bonuses for the directors. Sorry, creditors, can't pay the bill, we are involvent... With our 5 bedroom mansion, a Mercedes Benz in the drive and a second company set up ready to trade...

Fast forward to 2006 and bankrupcy lasts for a mere 12 months. It's a way of life for many. Run up huge bills, declare yourself bankrupt (keeping all the spoils) and wait a year to start again...

Morality: In the 60's having a child out of marriage (at any age) was such a stigma that even if the late 70's and 80's you'd here older women comment on 'That dirty hussy' or similar.

Now? Jeez, the mind boggles. 11 and a single mum, not a problem, move her up the ladder for counselling, a rent free house, benefits... Hands up - how many of you know girls who have (ruined there life) to get pregnant just to scrrew thee system... No stigma, no condemnation, just comfort and rewards. Rewards for goodness sake!? What other country on Earth is that stupid and irresponsible ?

Crime? Why even report it half the time. Short of traffic incident - ones that generate revenue from fines - how often have you heard or heard of officers saying, in effect, happens a lot round here, doubt we'll catch them. Have a nice day!

In our local paper recently was a report that a group of yobs were attacking an old man in the street. Three WEEKS later a patrol car drove past to take a statement. Apparently they were busy with other matters at the time...

I don't condone child beating (etc), but I'll firmly behind the little monsters learning some discipline. When I was younger (and I'm 43 now by the way) you daren't give your elders cheek. And not because your dad would give you a belt round the ear, it was because your mum or gran would get to hear and give you 'the look'. Not an evil eye, but just a look that said "I'm very disappointed in you" and made you feel bad, guilty to the core.

Now, the little brats are feral, street rats as young as 4 using language even the coarsest factory workers wouldn't stoop too... They think nothing of vandalising or abusing anyone or anything and the minute you tell the little horrors to sod of, you get a mouth full of abuse and the invariable statement, "You can't touch me Mr, that's child abuse, I'll get you done"

Sooo, if another decade, when these horrors are teenagers and in there twenties, sponging off the system and having lived their entire life (to that point) believing they can do anything they like without consequences... What then for society...

Me? First chance I get I'm going back to Canada. You can sleep in your own (politican correctness) mess...

Addenda:
Don't even think again getting me started on the deplorable, often barely understandable level of English in the youth of today!

Yes. Most people nowadays do not want to work in normal jobs (myself included). The entertainment media giants are constantly in our faces at home, at work, in the streets and all the heroes and idols are rich superstars, actors, rock musicians, footballers, athletes, supermodels. We see that if you get on Bigbrother (and loose) you can probably make a good enough living of it to never have to do a real job ever again. Why would anyone want to work in a factory when they should be a millionaire, hollywood actor like the media has told them they can be?

So, no one wants to work in the necessary jobs that keep the country running. And what happens? We have to bring people into the country (immigrants) to do those jobs. Did you know that there are more jobs in the UK than there are able bodied people to do them!?

Then people start to complain about the immigrants (and its usually the ones who are sat at home on the dole) because we have to change the "British" way of life to accommodate them even though they are helping to keep the "British way of life" going by doing the jobs that no one wants to do.

The immigrants stay in Britain and have families, but they segregate themselves with other immigrants and ghettos emerge. Ghettos breed criminals because they become a law unto themselves and are usually poverty stricken areas.

The children of the ghettos grow up again not wanting to do normal jobs and have all the luxuries of their heroes and with the added bonus of growing up in a ghetto steel what they want instead of working for it.

Literacy in this country is a joke. The amount of white English kids I've heard talk and are barley able to speak English is ridiculous! They don't feel they need an education because their parents live quite comfortably without working. Their only interests are those, again, sold to us at scandalous prices by the media giants: Playstations, X-box's, i-pods and wide screen TV's. You can't have these things you are told you MUST have without working, and since nobody wants to work, the only other option is to steel.

With no future, no ambition, no money, the only thing to do in life is to go out and drink, take drugs, beat people up. Human males, unneeded to hunt for food, or work towards looking after a family, will pent up aggression and violence soon ensues.

With all the crime taking place, the Government will create new laws and when you create new laws you instantly create new criminals. Soon, an activity or habit you do that you think is perfectly fine may well become illegal. Eventually everyone will be a criminal. Infact, if you talk to a lawyer, most people have broken the law whether they knew it or not. Violent offenses are on the increase and punishments are becoming slacker. You've more chance of going to prison in today’s Britain, for not paying your council tax than you are for stabbing a stranger in the street. And that's fact.

The children that are born in Britain today will grow up in a world where they will expect to be rich, to be a celebrity, to have this and have that and if this doesn't happen (which in 98% of cases it won't) then what will they do to get what they have been told the must have?

Very much so. Nobody seems to have manners or respect any more. Crime is becoming worse with so many knife and gun crimes, evil terrorists pose serious threats to our safety. The benefits system is a joke with so many cheats and people simply living off the state and contributing nothing, while hard working people work their backsides off just to carry these spongers. The elderly are treated abysmally and without the respect they deserve. There are a lot of good people out there, but it's extremely sad what is happening to Britain.

Well, crime is rising, chavs are growing in numbers, the education system is failing in a lot of places.

In those ways, yes, however in a lot of other ways, like technology and wealth our society is advancing very nicely.
