He wasn't a Christian, but no one can deny that he was a good man. If someone like Ghandi (not to mention thousands of other good, non-Christian people) was cast into hell, I don't think I can get behind the idea of Christianity. It just seems completly wrong to me.

Your thoughts?

I agree with you. I believe Ghandi was a saint on earth. Not only Christians have saints.

I believe that each of us creates our afterlife. I believe in the Summerland, the name for the place where Pagan souls rest and learn in between incarnations. Many religions have different ideas of the afterlife and since all the universes and all the dimensions are infinite, there is room for all of them and all the afterlives of all the beings of the universe. How's that for New Age? But I believe it.

Some Christians are joyful and positive and have a good message, and they believe primarily in heaven and will go there. The kind of Christians who condemn and hate -- like some of the Christians on here who love to tell everyone in sight that they're all going to hell -- believe in punishment and hell, and that's where they'll go, because that's what they believe in the most strongly.

Hope this made sense. Blessed be. ;-)

No. I don't think Ghandi is in hell. I, like Ghandi, believe that we're given more than one opportunity to realize what GOD has in mind for our eternity.

The Bible states, though, that it's not by our works that we will be saved but by our faith.

You don't know the thoughts or the heart of Ghandi or anyone for that matter, you assume he is good in the public view from what you have read.

Only God knows the heart and he will judge, we don't know and we can't say. All that we know is that Jesus is the way and if you get the truth of Jesus and refuse it then you have nothing to say but those who don't know God, God will deal with it in a loving way because God is love and He knows best.

You're supposed to be scared into believing Christianity, then afterwards behave like you're thrilled to be Christian. First you have to fear damnation, then you pretend it's all love and sugar cookies.

The point of living is TO BE GOOD TO EACH OTHER. The primitive mythologies about a place of afterlife torment are ABSURD.

No one is in hell. You'd have to have eternal life in order to go to hell forever. An eternal burning hell is NOT in the Bible.

yep he is... sadly... i mean like it's sad that ppl go there...but u do have to b a christian! Well, that's too bad that you're not going to be a Christian either. To get to heaven you have to be a Christian. I someone's soo good y don't they just becomea Chrisitian? And it's true that ppl live happy or joyful lives after they become christians and in heaven ppl who are Christians like say the guy who becomes a christian after being a serial killer will go to heaven but won't get near as many rewards there as gandi would have if he was a christian

That's a good question. I honestly don't think we know all there is to know about how God judges people. I think there may be different levels of heaven like Islam and Catholicism believe in. Who knows? He definitely was a good man.
