most seem 2 be very young and at a time when they are impressionable and looking for role models, if the ppl they look up 2 glorify their actions then these young muslims will feel bound by their religion 2 carry out these acts. if u notice the leaders of these young men seem 2 be around 40 or older.

I don't know but it would be great if there was a disused quarry somewhere, like Wales, where they all could go to kill themselves without causing harm to others. Perhaps someone could develop it as a tourist attraction and sell ice creams.

The US has an all volunteer army. Most profess to be Christian. Those currently serving in Iraq are doing so on behalf of Exxon Mobil & other war profiteers.
They are being used as cannon fodder for roadside bombers, suicide bombers, et al, by Exxon Mobil & other war profiteers.
What is inscrutable about that?
Yes, Exxon Mobil is well known for seeking ways to reduce their profits (lower prices). Same with war profiteers. The invasion was intended to RAISE prices & profits, not lower them. And, to gain control of Iraq's oil fields for American & British oil companies.
No wonder Bush was re-elected, his supporters are ignorant of economics & world history.
