Including the ones who were at my same-gender wedding?

They signed a petition to allow an anti-gay marriage constitutional amendment on the ballot this November. I saw at http://www.knowthyneighbor.org, which tracks the people who signed these petitions in Florida and Massachussetts. I come from Florida.

How can they love me to my face and do this behind my back? I wasn't able to marry in my home state, and they're part of the reason why!

*Should* I say anything to them? I feel bad about searching on the site. But this is confirming that I really should go surfing instead of being home for Thanksgiving.

How would y'all handle this?

I understand the importance of prayer for such things as forgiveness of sins, but I don't understand why we pray to god "to give us our daily bread" or to save us from some calamity etc.

The reason I say this is because there are always people in this world that are hungry without food and calamities are a part of nature and this world will always be full of pain and sorrow.

People pray for food and protection from calamities, yet these events still happen.

If they were, how did you come about being an atheist? Because whether we want to admit it or not, most of us are what we were raised up to be (catholic, baptist, muslim...)

The reason why I'm asking is I'm just curious. Thanks for the answers!

I watched an interesting program about the Zoa tribe of S. America and they are completely naked. Well, at least most of them. The thing is, after Adam and Eve sinned and felt naked, shouldn't all humans today be clothed. Why is this tribe naked (and probably others) Does the Adam and Eve sin not apply to them? Does it prove that the entire story is not all it's cracked up to be?

It's a beautiful faith. The Jewish religion above all others cherishes that delicate balance between Life's Joys and Sorrows, all with good humour and never forgetting ones personal relationship with, and many fold obligations to, Our Most Heavenly Father.

You do realise there are only about 15.5 million Jews remaining in the world today. The majority of those are in the United States (5.6 million) and Israel (5.4 million). That's not a lot of Jews.

And it is not exactly a growth religion. The young are intermarrying with non-Jews or abandoning their faith altogether. The Jerusalem Post recently reported that the Jewish World is experiencing ZERO population growth.

Now that's where you and I come in. Won't you join me in Defending this most ancient Faith? Won't you join be in preventing the destruction of God's Most Favored Race? Won't you become Jew?

Do you know the name(s) of God?

(All I need is a Yes or No. If Yes, type them in. If No, type nothing of them in.) For those who really know, type 3. For those who, "Eh... kinda," type 1 or 2. Those who don't, a NO will be a good answer.

(I'm Christian but not Catholic, that is why I am asking for an answer from someone who is, preferably. I'm just wondering...)

There was a lady in my philosophy class last year who said that she was Catholic. (She was raised in a Catholic home.) However, she said she didn't believe in Jesus and I thought that the Catholic faith was based on Jesus as the Son of God, our saviour, etc. (Correct me if I am wrong.) Anyways, how can someone say that they are of a group based on a certain belief, if they don't share that belief? Didn't make sense to me, but she didn't seem to think it mattered what she believed.

Is she Catholic? Is someone raised by a practicing family Catholic forever? Is being Catholic just a title that you can take, then believe whatever you want?

Just wondering, because that wasn't what I thought being Catholic means, but hey, I am no expert, only have the vaguest idea...

The Bible is 27% PROPHETIC (roughly 1/3)!! Jesus Christ fullfilled over 360 old testament prophecies! You have to be really IGNORANT to think that the Bible is just "another book". The Bible is the Word of God!! comments>>

I mean no harm, just curious why people think using the Bible to answer questions posed by those outside of the Christian belief system is helpful.

If I used Necronomicron to answer Christian questions would it change your mind or would you give it a thumbs down without much thought...

Do you think it pushes people even further from your beliefs?
