Now, to be stubborn means that you plant both feet on the ground, clench your fists, grind your teeth & say, "It’s my way. I’m right, & I don’t care what anybody else says. That’s the way it’s going to be."

The world has problems whose root cause is religion. Is this something you would agree with?
I look at war in the middle east and the terrorist attacks on America and England and Spain, and I feel like the catalyst for these is religion.

I also see in America a Culture War, where the "ultra-conservative" positions are being based on the Bible. As an example of this is the literal interpretation of Genesis 1:26-27 and Genesis 2:7 used to justify intelligent design; and the attack on gay rights using such Bible passages as Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:24-27.

So here is my question, what is the real problem in your estimation?

1. The holy books themselves . . . Holy Bible or Qur'an?

2. The religious leaders . . who are interpreting these books and using what they see to play on the bigotry of the followers.

I tend to believe its more 2, I hope its 2, because if its 2 there is hope that we could use 1 in a more positive interpretation.

What are your thoughts.

I read it here on yahoo answers that people who fight others aren't following the will of God. If thats true there must be something wrong with my Bible. I read in my Bible in the book of Joshua, Judges, 1Samuel that the nation of Israel went to war and had the blessing of your God.

If those Israelites went to fight at God's request and it is in the Bible does that mean that they were fighting on God's request or is this a metaphor or is it a lie?

PETERSBURG, Ky. - Like most natural history museums, this one has exhibits showing dinosaurs roaming the Earth. Except here, the giant reptiles share the forest with Adam and Eve.

That, of course, is contradicted by science, but that's the point of the $25 million Creation Museum rising fast in rural Kentucky.

Its inspiration is the Bible ? the literal interpretation that contends God created the heavens and the Earth and everything in them just a few thousand years ago.

"If the Bible is the word of God, and its history really is true, that's our presupposition or axiom, and we are starting there," museum founder Ken Ham said during recent tour of the sleek and modern facility, which is due to open next year.

Ham, an Australian native who started the Christian publishing company Answers in Genesis in the late 1970s, said the goal of his privately funded museum is to change minds and rebut the scientific point of view.

"We're going to show you that we can make sense o

Bearing in mind what happend the last time was presented with a cross of his own...

I personally find the cross offensive - and feel that it symbolzies nothing more than the power of Rome, and its ability to crush all that stand in its way - sort of like a hood ornament or hunting trophy...

One wonders why Liberals adore him when...Bill Clinton disgraced the Office of the Presidency in a rank, vulgar and unparalled manner, : Oral Sex, in the Oval Office, Perjury, A loooong history of sexual misconduct while in office ranging from groping, to accusations of rape, conducting adminstration policy by polls, a palpable disrespect and disregard for the military, NOW manuvering for a key position of the most corrupt, impotent, useless, failed, worthless institution
on the face of the Earth..the United Nations, a perfect match,
he built a Library to enshrine ... what? His illustrious legacy?

What would be considered shameful behavior, culiminated by his declaration to the world, "I did not have sex with 'that' woman" statement is considered to be what ... by the Left... something akin to a Winston Chuchill's declaration to bolster his countrymen, not to mention the nickname he bears as the "Wizard of 'Is'" yet the Left- just love him.

Do you agree there is a serious crisis in America? I have seen on yahoo answers people asking evolutionists to explain why human footprints are inside dinosaur footprints, that this is proof that human walked with dinosaur, this disproves evolution and proves the Bible, this is their claim.

Is this a failure of Education in America,

Is this a cultural problem, that these people will go to Church's where they will be indoctrinated into this cult mentality?

Have we been dealing with this problem the wrong way, thinking a Simpsons episode where Homer goes back in time will do it?

Do you feel as I do, that its not believe in God that in these situations in what is wrong, but inability to critically reason . . . but to critically reason one would need to understand the facts.

This is not a genetic human thats 65 million years old, we can not determine the age of a footprint. How does a cult-church eliminte this capacity for reason?

My neighbor has been hitting on me for months. I am happily married and I told him so. He gave me his cell phone number and I called him and told him to please leave me the hell alone. I didn't tell my husband at first because I knew the reaction that he would have. Last night, I told him everything and he is determined on really hurting the guy. ( he can really do it to). He is also mad at me because he said that he can't trust me now and I should have told him already and I should never have called him, I told him that he was right, but ABSOLUTELY nothing happened with this guy. We are neighbors so I was trying to turn him down without it being some major thing, because we have to live by each other, and he is also married. So now I've got **** coming to me from my husband and if she finds out( which she will) he is going to tell her whatever he can to get the heat off of him. So I am going to get it from her as well. I really do not know what to do.

Is that particular saying found in the Bible? Not that I've scanned the entire Bible, but I've never seen it. Also, if we REALLY were able to help ourselves, we wouldn't need help from God. That statement has me wondering about it's validity. Why? People who have issues in their lives. They cry out to God in times of distress and he helps them. Like King David. In times of distresss, Kind David would literally pour his heart out to God. Evidence that King David wasn't able to help himself. So I wonder about the validity of this statement. Comments? Over analyizing it? Maybe. Maybe not. I guess that point that I'm trying to make is that most people can't help themselves. Ok. Let's talk about addictions. How may people are able to break free of additions all by themselves verses the people who sincerely pray to God and are able to break free of addicitions?
