My husband and I had seperated 6 years ago and I have remained faithful but he did not. I have many friends who really think that I have gone out of my mind. And they know that I have been faithful. But the good part is, I am NOW seeking a divorce. And will be free to marry again. Yes some people can stay faithful even in seperation.

No, cheating always causes strain on a relationship or marriage and would raise the divorce rate. What's the point of marrying if you're not going to be faithful? This isn't the "old days" men and women don't have to marry anymore. Many women and men choose to be single and never marry. Marriage is for people who fall in love and want to be with that one person they fell in love with for the rest of their life. Cheating isn't a gender thing. Not all or only men cheat, women cheat as well. So what are you going to say for those women who cheat? That there should be male prostitutes for them? Or because since both genders "always" cheat because they need variety should everyone become a swinger?

If they are seperated then there is no longer a relationship. They have no one to stay faithful to.
Divorces can take up to 5 years. You can not expect someone to remain single for that long, especially if they have met someone else.

Sometimes, but not always. My mom & step dad have been seperated for 3 years & my step-dad had a girlfriend. My mom just recently got back together with him.
