One of the greatest of humanity's heroes I believe, to have formed a foundation to bring people off the streets of India to find dignity in death for the homeless and dying, to feed the starving and to cloth the naked. Unless we have been to india or seen similar conditions, it is very hard to imagine the work needed. I once made a passing comment about her, and was told off by a Buddhist ( not even Christian! ) that if I want to joke or criticise her work, i should first roll up my sleeves and go hands on first before being a backseat driver... I totally shut up coz it was so true. sigh..**shame**

The following is a recent quote from President Gordon B. Hinckley on the Mormon church's official stance on abortion:
"While we denounce it, we make allowance in such circumstances as when pregnancy is the result of incest or rape, when the life or health of the mother is judged by competent medical authority to be in serious jeopardy, or when the fetus is known by competent medical authority to have serious defects that will not allow the baby to survive beyond birth. But such instances are rare, and there is only a negligible probability of their occurring. In these circumstances those who face the question are asked to consult with their local ecclesiastical leaders and to pray in great earnestness, receiving a confirmation through prayer before proceeding." (The Ensign Nov.1998 pg.71)
But the God of the Bible, (Psalm 139: 13-14)
You created my inmost self,
knit me together in my mother's womb.
For so many marvels I thank you;
a wonder am I, and all your works are wonders.'

This is a link to the CIA World Factbook's entry about the Holy See:

https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/vt.html

Shouldn't Catholics be reclassified as citizens of the Holy See rather than members of a religious group?

baptism is also used to identify the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus was still alive when John was Baptizing people. So the point of baptizing was only for the remission of sins during John's tenure? Jesus himself was Baptized by John to show obedience "NOT" because Jesus himself was sinful. (Even though Jesus was fully human and fully God.) I guess what I'm asking is that John must have known through divine revelation that Jesus' death was iminent and that could be the reason why he Baptized people not only for the remission of sins, but also as a symbol of the future death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ?

ok, i just divorced after 7 years of marriage to "the one". she had an affair long story short. i am 32 years old, male, and i have 2 kids with her. my question is do you think God knew this would happen, well i know He knows, but as far as me moving on does God put people in our lives only when He thinks we are ready? i live in a small town and i am kinda stuck here for a long time, but i think i am ready to meet a "friend"but i never can seem to find anyone. they either are married or have friends already. i feel i am a descent looking guy but maybe my self esteem is kinda low and it shows, i dont know. Anyway i want to know your opinion if God places certain people in our lives at just the right time or is it all just circumstance? how will i trust again? do i need to look for someone or will it just "happen"? i am really confused, so honest opinions only please, thank you

If you see somebody pulling out a checkbook to pay for their items, do you automatically go to another line?

Trust me, I'm relaxed, I don't sweat the small stuff (I know I'm gonna get accused anyways). But do you switch to another line?

The bible evidence which accompanies Christian's colorful descriptions and stories of Lucifer, hell and Satan aren't very convincing.

If anyone has some Satan stories they have committed to memory they would like to share, go ahead, and can you please support this with evidence or reference to where you got it from?
