Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. People who follow Him are called Christians. where do you think the name came from? He's God so of course when he rose from the dead 3 days after he was crucified, He went to Heaven. Jesus specifically said in John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." meaning that belief, repentence for sin, and acceptance of the sacrifice He made on the cross for us is the only way to Heaven.
by thew way, any answer that you get to this question, you should compare to the bible and make sure that SOME people aren't taking verses out of context and twisting them to mean something they were'nt meant to mean. Definately some of the previous answers I saw I do not believe to even be written in the Bible as it contridicts everything ther Bible stands for. meaning Ernest what ever his name is. some of the stuff he said didn't even make sense.

No where in the Bible does it say "You have to be a Christian to get to Heaven." It says if you believe with all your heart that Christ rose from the dead, and can forgive your sins, then you can know the father, who is the final voice on who goes to Heaven anyway. If your heart is right with God, you can make it to Heaven, regardless of being a Christian.

Jesus was not a Christian because the word did not even exist.
No, you could not go to heaven just because you "trust in God". To trust in God could mean anything to any person. God made it clear before Jesus arrived that in order to have your sins forgiven, there had to be a death. In the pre-Messianic days, this was through the atonement Lamb sacrificed. It was a picture or model of He who came to take away ALL the sins of the world.
We now live in a post-Messianic era, and there is now no need for sacrifice. Rather, we put our trust and faith in the Messiah who died in our place. Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin. You cannot get in to heaven if there is sin in your life. That is the way it is.

The only way in the bible is threw the blood of Jesus. He went to the ones who died before he came to earth and took the believers from there.

I'm not a believer, but in my opinion if such a place existed then more then one special group could get in. Personally any religion that believes only itself would, with so many other people in the world, that religion pretty much disproves itself that way...
