I am a practitioner of Wicca, which is the religion of witches. There is nothing Satanic about it for Satan is a product of Christianity and witches don't worship or have anything to do with Christianity. It is an Earth based religion that believes in Karma, a God and Goddess, self empowerment, reincarnation, and that we are a part of nature and not removed from it so as such we must do our part to save the planet. Not myself.

Answering from a Jungian perspective, the Witch complex would be a smothering feminine character, an "Old Woman" with powerful enchantment, attracting the Child (possibly you if this is rearing its head) to her bosom. A particular danger is that she is a very powerful figure, not easy to put back into the unconscious when she takes over, since the water (the unconscious) rejects her. In myth, the ways to kill a witch are burning at the stake, melting with water, and tricking her.

Melting symbolizes the integration of the Witch into the conscious personality. Of course, water rejects witches, so it has to be a special kind of water. Hearkening back to the New Testament, Jesus made mention of the salvation He offered as a special kind of water. An involving religion, then, may offer a key.

What makes a witch? Well a lot of ppl think they can wake up one day and declare themselves a witch, but its more complex than that...what makes a witch, a witch is the willingness to follow the rules and path of the witch, for example with Wicca, you must follow the law "harm none"...are you just curious or are you on a path already?

And for those of you saying you're a warlock...just FYI, that's actually insulting yourself, a WARLOCK means you're an oatbreaker.

I also would happily claim the word 'witch'. Although I do not strictly follow the 'wiccan' path, I follow it's 'lore' in all of my magick. Which I suppose makes me a white witch!
I am what is known in witchcraft circles as an 'eclectic', meaning the I chose to follow different aspects of many different belief's.
Shamanism, Dion-ism, Reiki, etc.
Hope this helps you with your path.
Blessed be

The question should be:

Are you a good witch or a bad witch?

Yes I am. What makes me one is the formal training I had for a year and a day by an elder of the tradition I practice. Then when that was done I was formally initiated and was given my white cord, my symbol of an initiate. Not only that but my beliefs as well of course.

Yes. I am a witch. I was born with it in my blood, passed down through the male lineage of my family.

However, I tend to keep myself to myself. No sense bragging about it.
