Society & Culture - 3 August 2006

Today we, the inhabitants of our planate have knowledge, science, food, facilites but we are also dying of cancer, AIDS, accidents and we lack understanding of universe. We can colonize the glaxies, eliminate all disease, improove our genes, have unimagined facilites say-a thought driven car running on stored solar energy which will fly of my window and navigating with the help of computers will fly-swim-dive or go through the space to take me any where. The future can be fantastic for the inhbitants of our planate. But, we are wasting the chances and resources of our future generations in stupid waste of resources in foolishly thinking that one riligion, race or nationality is good and another is bad. The foolish are creating devisions, terrorism, wars and this is draining the men-money-matterial and time which could be used insted in productive research in cancer, cardiac diseases, trauma and other medical care - newer eatables, machines, space crafts, life styles , new poetry -love.

American Christians live such a life of compromise. Which is a shame, because God uses those that don't in a huge capacity. Are there any Christians out there living a holy lifestyle and being used by God in a great way?

absolutely NOTHING to do... I've done everything that needs to be done and than some.... i would do just about anything to keep myself busy, but theres is NOTHING for me to do...

I often hear christians saying, "why don't you believe like we do?" and that "if you only read XYZ then you'd certainly believe."

Fair enough. After all, how can anyone who respects the bible reject the possibility that christianity is correct without ever inquiring. Ok, fair enough.

But my question is, do these same christians hold themselves to the same standard?

In other words, have they ever considered the possibility that, for example, judaism (my religion) is correct?

Have they read OUR reasons for believing what we do?

After all, we're the status quo. We were here before christianity. If anything, any bible-believers should automatically start out with our belief (being the status quo) until strong evidence leads them to the conclusion that christianity is right.

Now, it is clear that most jews throughout history have never found such "strong evidence"; to the contrary, we have evidence which leads us away from christianity.

I don't believe in god but i'm open to the idea that there might be one. However, we know that the ancient Greeks created the gods to control the population. The people believed there were angry and petty gods who would kill them if they broke any laws. So my question is this, knowing that is true about the gods of the ancient greeks how can we believe that 'god' is not the same thing?

I heard news a while back about the government having to change the christmas tree at rockefeller's name to a HOLIDAY TREE, because calling it a christmas tree would upset other religions.
Thats crazy. A christmas tree symbolizes only one holiday and religion- christmas and christianity. If they put a giant menorah (did i spell that right?) in rockefeller center, I wouldn'e mind at all. And do you think people would call it a "holiday menorah"??/ I dont think so! they would call it a menorah or a jewish menorah, and so would I. If you think that if they start calling it a holiday tree is a bunch of bs, say so!

Let me start out by saying that I am not gay. I have been dating girls since I was in grade six and have screwed roughly a hundred women since. I have only reached first base with guys, but that is probably going to change this weekend.

I met this guy through his younger sister who had a "friends with benefits" deal with me. I immediately found him attractive when I first saw him in his house. We then became friends, then more than friends, and then we made out one night and it was quite possibly the most intimate kiss I have ever received (and I have kissed A LOT in my lifetime). This weekend we are going camping together and the probability of us getting it on is high.
