A lot of people are writing false beliefs of Islam. Islam doesn't promote terrorism and that ex- Muslim that posted was just typing up so many false things. I don't believe that person is an ex- Muslim.

Allah is not different god from God. Allah is the name of God in Islam. Allah is the name of God in Arabic. Even Arab Christians and Jews identify God as "Allah" in Arabic.

Actually Islam is not about killing, for that is a sin. That ex- Muslim that posted is telling lies. Islam is about believing in the One God Almighty. They believe in the same God as Jews and Christians. They worship the same God of Abraham. Allah means God in Arabic. Just like how Dios means God in Spanish. And Yahweh in Hebrew. Allah is the same thing. It's just a different language. That is a misconception many people have. Islam believes in the One God who is the Almighty, believe in all prophets and messengers of God (including Adam, Enoch, Noah, Eber, Shelah, Abraham, Lot, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Jethro, Moses, Aaron, Ezekiel, David, Solomon, Elijah, Elisha, Jonah, John, Isaiah, Daniel, Samuel, Jesus, Muhammad, and many more), believe in the Angels of God (including Gabriel, Michael, and etc.), believe in the Afterlife (which includes Judgement Day, Day of Resurrection, Heaven and Hell, and etc.), predestination by God's will, and they all must believe in all of the Holy Books sent down from God to His messengers, which include the Torah sent to Moses, the Psalms to David, the Gospel to Jesus, and finally the Qur'an to Muhammad. They believe that all of the holy books before the Qur'an have been corrupted and so that is why God sent His final book, the Qur'an, which will never be corrupted and is protected by God. Muslims hold that Jesus is a revered prophet and messenger, but find it blasphemy that God should have a son. Muslims believe that God has no equal partner, no son, no daughter, no mother, no father, no relative whatsoever. Muslims believe that God is the only One Being worthy of worship. There are many similarities between the Bible and the Qur'an and you can view them at here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Similarities_between_the_Bible_and_the_Qur%27an They include many similarities such as the Adam, Eve, and the forbidden tree story, Noah's Ark, the story of Lot and the city of Sodom, the Covenant of Abraham, the splitting of the Red Sea by Moses, the virgin birth of Jesus by Mary, and etc. Also, this video explains that Islam does not promote terrorism. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4213223797262505515&q=what+does+islam+say+about+terrorism

Islam, in my opinion, is the world's most misunderstood religion.

Also, some other good web sites about Islam are www.harunyahya.com and www.jesuswillreturn.com

Basic tenets of Islamic faith is to accept Allah as the one and only God; Koran as Allah's revelations to the Prophet and Muhammad as a prophet and the last prophet.
That apart, they believe that those who do not believe in these three things are Kafirs who should be pursued to believe, if still they do not accept they should be killed to appease Allah who would reward such killings with Houris in the Noor.

You already know the answer...
Islam, like the majority of other religions, claims to be a religion of peace and tolerance and that it is the only true way to find God. I suppose it is so, but what with current events it is hard to believe that all Muslims (or Christians or Jews for that matter) are as righteous as they claim to be.

Islam believes that each person is born pure. The Holy Quran tells us that God has given human beings a choice between good and evil and to seek God’s pleasure through faith, prayer and charity. Islam believes that God created mankind in His image and by imbuing the attributes of God on a human level mankind can attain His nearness. Islam’s main message is to worship God and to treat all God’s creation with kindness and compassion. Rights of parents in old age, orphans and the needy are clearly stated. Women’s rights were safeguarded 1,400 years ago when the rest of the world was in total darkness about emancipation. Islamic teachings encompass every imaginable situation and its rules and principles are truly universal and have stood the test of time.
Islam virtue does not connote forsaking the bounties of nature that are lawful. On the contrary one is encouraged to lead a healthy, active life with the qualities of kindness, chastity, honesty, mercy, courage patience and politeness. In short, Islam has a perfect and complete code for the guidance of individuals and communities alike. As the entire message of Islam is derived from the Holy Quran and indeed the Sunnah and Hadith (the traditions and practices of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings on him) it is immutable in the face of change in time and place. It may appear rigid to the casual eye, in actual fact it is most certainly an adaptable way of life regardless of human changes.
The prime message of Islam is the Unity of God, that the Creator of the world is One and He alone is worthy of worship and that Muhammad (peace and blessings on him) is His Messenger and Servant. The follower of this belief is thus a Muslim - a Muslim’s other beliefs are: God’s angels, previously revealed Books of God, all the prophets, from Adam to Jesus (peace be on them both), the Day of Judgement and indeed the Decree of God. A Muslim has five main duties to perform, namely; bearing witness to the Unity of God and Muhammad (peace and blessings on him) as His Messenger, observing the prescribed prayer, payment of Zakat, keeping the fasts of Ramadhan and performing the pilgrimage to Mecca.

Okay when you ask this question you have to be a little more specific. But, in general Muslims believe in Allaah sub hana wa'ta ala. Muslims believe Muhammad (PBUH) is his messenger. Islam is a religion that asks its followers to practice humility and believe in Allaah's word. Muslims believe that there is only one god and that is worthy of worhip and that is Allah sub hana wa'ta ala.

That God is capricious, and you must submit to his will no matter how unreasonable it may seem to you. Unbelievers must be given a chance to convert, and be killed if they won't. Women are chattel and can be killed for bringing dishonor to the family. Anyone who renounces Islam must be killed.

Basically it's a system of fear. Terrible way to go through life.
