How is this person a *real* christian?

doesn't it seem he is more materialized when it comes to his religion, than his beliefs? why would you put such a price on something that is SUPPOSED to be so "beloved"?

I have seen a lot like this in the christian religion - and it continues to make me dislike it more!
Christians: heres your chances to redeem yourselves....because if I wasn't too sure about the teachings of "god"...after reading this I would definitely disagree with christianity. (not that I don't already)
And, if you're gunna quote the bible, I'm not even gunna read your response, because that gets annoying.

answer away!

I am a Christian and certain people call us "closed minded" but you never give Jesus a chance either so doesn't that make people who call us closed minded, closed minded also? We are not closed minded we have just found the truth do you want us to leave the truth to follow something else? We are not closed minded our eyes are actually wide open to the truth... and I am not trying to attack...

I have been to Nigeria and I had a lovely time. I found that they are warm and friendly people, so why do people think otherwise?

Did God create a whole load of dead plankton and bury them underground for 6000 years to ferment and turn into oil?

Did he create oil 6000 years ago and make it look like it was made from dead plankton?

I see a lot of questions here about religion, politics etc. I can see asking out of curiosity, but to compare, put down, and degrade doesn't make any sense. If everyone would quit pushing their beliefs on others, and keep it between their own people, maybe we wouldn't have all these problems with wars and hate crimes.

Anyone else want to add to this? I can't seem to express what I trully want to say. Besides, "Can't we all just get along?"

The Scientists, the Astronomers, a few decades earlier, they described, how the universe came into existence - They call it the ‘Big Bang’. And they said… ‘Initially there was one primary nebula, which later on it separated with a Big Bang, which gave rise to Galaxies, Stars, Sun and the Earth, we live in.’ This information is given in a nutshell in the Glorious Qur’an, in Surah Ambiya, Ch. 21, Verse No. 30, which says….Do not the unbelievers see ? ‘That the heavens and the earth were joined together, and we clove them asunder.’ Imagine this information which we came to know recently was there in Quran centuries ago.

I did yesterday and most replies were that I am a homophobe. They don't know me! Aren't they being judgemental...another quality gays despise in straight folks?
BTW. I am NOT a homophobe I get along with people just fine without bearing on their sexual orientation.

If you define yourself as Catholic, what makes you so?

If you don't believe in any major Church teachings (Mass every Sunday, Confession, True Presence, etc.), do you still define yourself as Catholic, and why?

1. What will it take to curb the violence in Oakland, CA. Why is a town so close to so many well-known towns in such dire circumstances regarding education, crime, vitality. 2. Specifically related to Oakland's economy, why aren't big business moving into Oakland (specifically downtown)? There are no major players. No Chili's, family restuarant chains, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc... things you would expect to see in an urban area of that size. .. Does anyone have any intelectual thoughts on this? Thanks

I am open about my faith and think it to be my duty given to me by Jesus to share my faith. I recently mentioned being saved in front of some of my boyfriends friends (he is a Christian) they are not. And was asked what that meant, I explained it to them and I was shocked to see extremely blasphemous images of Jesus and mockery on their myspace profiles after I explained to them what being saved meant. I quote some of it "Hold up! Let me put on my HOTTNESS and show you a sinner! lol Damn listen to me I need to be saved....Hold on let me pray..God please keep all of my family and friends safe from harm and please bring me a hot guy with a huge COCK..lol Yeah Im going to hell! Man, (name) that Jesus thing is funny ****...a little sick but funny. I know I know! Im going to hell! Damit I wish I was SAVED! Lol”. Reading this broke my heart, not that they mocked me, but their disrespect and blasphemy against Jesus. How would you deal with this? Would defending God be judgmental, or duty?

in 197, terrence and dennis mckenna (botanists) went to the amazon and took some DMT (a powerful halucinogen)- according to terrence, while under the influence of DMT, he was contacted by Logos (an informative voice, supposedly universal to gnostic experiences) instructed him to investigate the I'ching (ancient chinese sacred philosophical text).

Upon further study of the I'ching, the Mckenna brothers found out that if you apply a Mandelbrot fractal equation to the I'ching, it produces a "timewave" of the human evolutionary process, that reaches it's apex on dec 22, 2012 (just like the mayan calendar)

what do you think?

I'm a Christian but i've been wondering, with all the different forms (Lutheran, Protestant, Mormon, Pentacostal, Baptist) and not to mention all the other religions (Catholicism, Muslim, Hindu, etc.) if it's just better to believe in a higher power..
