Sadly another casualty to the English language. Its been years since I had a gay old time or laughed with gay abandon. A campaign should be started to "REINSTATE GAY" I shall have a T shirt made and it shall say on it "GAY PRIDE" I think that'll show em just exactly where I stand !

The original meaning of the word Gay meant to be happy. I think the main reason that it is NOT used is because the meaning has changed so substantially that you would not want to say "I feel Gay" because it would not be just a slight misunderstanding but a severe one. Therefor it became too confusing to be used as a word with more than one meaning. It doesnt mean you're feeling good and happy, now it means you have a same sex preference. We have lots and lots of words with multiple meaning but because this one became a description of sexual preference I wouldnt want to have that confused unless i truly felt and was gay. ;)P

The only people I ever hear say gay meaning happy are senior citizens.

I use it all the time ,it's gone,only used in english lit classes and by people who will die anyday now
