yea the idea of religion is to explain everything that is in terms, unexplainable. am neutrel (meaning am not a religous person or atheist). so religion can cause ignorance and intolerance.

If a child rapist is your prophet, what does that say about your 'religion' (ie cult)?

I've read that some people think that dinosaurs were put on this planet as a test of faith. If that's the case, why do we possess logic? According to these people, even though there is overwhelming evidence of dinosaurs, we're supposed to ignore what logic tells us and blindly believe, even though logic's necessary to our decision-making and daily lives and what have you. I don't understand why our brain operates the way it does if we're encouraged to ignore it in certain situations.

To this Sharon retorted:

"EVERY TIME WE DO SOMETHING, YOU TELL ME AMERICANS WILL DO THIS AND WILL DO THAT. I WANT TO TELL YOU SOMETHING VERY CLEAR: DON'T WORRY ABOUT AMERICAN PRESSURE ON ISRAEL;

WE, THE JEWISH PEOPLE, CONTROL AMERICA. AND THE AMERICANS KNOW IT."

I know some FTM who date gay guys, and some who date women. Older MTFs are often married and stay with their wives. But all the younger MTFs mostly date guys, always short term, though. I wonder, do lesbians or FTM guys ever date MTFs? I've never met any who did (except for the wives of older MTFs but I wouldn't call them lesbians, they married that person when she was a man!).

Surly it can't be based on that 1 little bit of the bible (which can't actually be proved to be factually accurate) that says there will be wars (which there always have been) earthquakes (which there always have been) and famine (which oh look there always has been) so where is jesus then?

The Lord’s hands are larger then mine,
and they hold my life in them.
They give me strength to carry on
when I believe he can.
When I am lost God can find me
and lead me like his sheep.
When the sky gets dark and dreary
he can shine his light on me.
The Lord can slay a lion
and make a storm be calm,
because in faith he holds unto
the world inside his palm.

“…'Aisha further said, "Once the Prophet was screening me and I was watching the DISPLAY OF BLACK SLAVES IN THE MOSQUE and ('Umar) scolded them.” http://www.islamicity.com/mosque/sunnah/bukhari/015.sbt.html#002.015.103

Shocking that even one black person would be a Muslim. Beyond comprehension.

I am not black, however, I believe all races are essentially the same in their core humanity, therefore, I try to imagine myself in the same shoes. Could I ever join a religion in which the very founding prophet owned and preferred to own members of my race? F*** no!

All historians no that Muslims traded more blacks into slavery than all other cultures or people combined. Muslims traded black slaves long before trans-Atlantic slave routes through their sub-Saharan trade routes. Then, when trans Atlantic trade routes emerged, it was rare indeed if any black slave didnt pass once through the hands of a Muslim. Of course, the Islamic sub saharan trade route continues today

I've been studying this for awhile now and would like to see what other people think about it. Like the year Jesus comes back, Satan let loose on the world and judgement day. Our calander officaly ends November of this year, speculation that Jesus returns. Tribulation begins. Mayan calander ends December 2012, Beginning of Judgement days. Satan rules world for 3.5 years which should start in 2009. That would basicly give Christ 3.5 years and Satan 3.5 years. Anyone else have similar ideas?

I'm not for sure if I want to be one if I get the chance. I want to have a few kids (3 or 4, but not limited to) and I want to be there for them (especially when they are real young), but I think I'll feel like I'm dependant on my husband for everything which I pretty much will be money wise. But I also want a career. I don't know what to do. What do you think?

I live in Manchester and went to uni in Bradford. I am having a lot of trouble at home (arguments and arranged marriage crap as I'm 30 and still unmarried) but find going for a 2 hour drive back to my uni town really helpful. The drive is nice in itself as you go across the pennines and as I had good memeories there it brings it all back. I also listen to the radio which is relaxing also. I have been doing this over th elast month and I find it helps me. I have to of course lie to my mum (who is typically overprotective) and say i'm going to the gym. Any white over thirty somethings I knw you won't understand as you will say i shouldn't be at home but with my family they wouldn't tolerate me living alone unmarried unless for a good reason. I don't have any friends in Manchester (I have 2 good friends elsewhere in the country) and would find it really difficult to make friends and open up. Most people over the hot weather have said they are out at BBQ's &all I do is drive but I like it

This creature appears five times in the Old Testament, but it is generally understood to be a great sea monster, mosterous fish, or perhaps even a Nile crocodile or large snake (see Rashi's (Rabbi Shlomo Yitzchaki's) commentary).

It is also mentioned twice in the Talmud, including "If a flame can fall a cedar, what hope does a small tree have? If a Leviathan can be hooked and hauled to land, what hope has a fish in a puddle?" (Moed Katan (25b))

The only reference I could find linking it to any prehistoric creatures, like dinosaurs, is a theory in cryptozology, that it may have been an aquatic creature such as a Plesiosaurus. But if that's the case, how does one account for the discovered remains being dated to the Jurrasic period (which extends back roughly 200 million years ago and ends about 146 million years ago)?

Surely a Christian would not rely on such scientific theories, would he/she?

So let me get this strait. You Christians believe that god created angels, and allowed them to leave god and magically get power, thus creating Satan. He then let Satan build a dream home of evil (Hell) and the two struck up a deal. God had billions of souls that were guilty of the egregiously unforgivable crime of not loving him the right way (loved God, but were not Christian), and, being so loving and forgiving, desperately needed some way to torture them in unspeakably grotesque ways for the whole of eternity. Fortunately for God, this problem that he couldn’t seem to wrap his mind around solved itself, for Satan had both the desire, and just such a place to accommodate God’s sickeningly blood-thirsty and sadistic compulsions.
