I believe the passage you are referring to is saying exactly the opposite of what you are saying.
There Jesus was saying yes, there will be plenty of wars and earthquakes and famines and that does NOT mean that the end is coming!
He was saying don't get scared by current events and people that tell you Jesus is here! or Jesus is over there! Because when Jesus returns everyone will know it, but no one knows what day that will be.

Well if you combine that with the other little bits of the bible, like the last couple chapters of daniel, the later epistles in the new testament, and most of the book of revelation you get an idea of what the end times is like.
But Jesus isn't coming to kill us all, so read it a little closer.

I think you sort of missed the point.
War does not increase death...death is total in every generation. Wars, earthquakes, famine, sure, it is easy to say they always have been. Not so easy to look ahead 2000 years and say they always will be, though. Or do you think it is impossible that we could ever solve these problems? If you do, then why are we even bothering to try? Heck, with all our technology, we can't even say the world will even BE here in 200 years...let alone 2000. So, how, do you think, Jesus could look ahead and know these things?
Jesus isn't coming back to kill anybody.
The gift of God is eternal life.
The life that God gives us is in His Son.
Jesus doesn't come to bring us death...rather, He comes to bring us eternal life!!

This current administration, who bases their platform on "family values," comes a hair away from making me lose my Faith for the first time in my life. Politicians who proclaim themselves to be Christians, and yet constantly go against Christ's most clear and beautiful lessons. And against His own words and most memorable principles.
Did Jesus say to starve the poor and feed the obscenely rich? Did He make the moneychangers INTO the Temple, the Temple's very own pillars and leaders? Did He ask us to kill thy neighbor and starve thy father and mother while cutting off their medicine? And since when does "family values" include starving families who work very hard for every measly cent they earn in order to slay the Death Tax, but for only those with two million dollars or more? Or to do away with the Dividend Tax in a way that doesn't help anyone but those who have already helped themselves to everything that is ours, that we earned for them? And I have a feeling God was really proud of this world when He made it, and of all of us, too.
What does He think about an administration who has poisoned this world with pollution, wars, and famine? And an administration who has, worse yet, poisoned the peoples' minds in His holy name?
Who could blame Jesus if He was coming back to kill us all? For some of us, it would be a Mercy Killing. Where is the Apocalypse, Armeggedon, the Rapture? Good God, how much higher and more idiotic does the Tower of Babble have to get?
Indeed...where is Jesus? If He truly exists, why is He not very, very P!SSED and coming after these storefront christians-in-name only who do so much evil in His name?
Like I said, this current administration has me a hair away from losing my Faith for the first time. Why do only these types of people find their rewards, and so, so much of it? What kind of lesson is that for honest, righteous folks who work so hard for what little they have, only to have these storefront christians take it all so shamelessly and conspicuously?
George Bush is a good Christian like Hitler was a good Catholic boy. And that's all I have to say about that.

Gosh I am so tired of people asking questions about God and Jesus and they have never read one page of the Bible!!! Would it kill you to actually read the Bible and then place an educated question here? Or is it somekind of agenda you all have to confuse the ones that are really trying to search for answers?

Jesus is coming to take His own to heaven not to kill people! His children look for His return with joy and expectation! I guess it will be sad when you get left behind!

Who believes that Jesus is coming back to "kill us all"? There's nothing in the Bible about that. I'm not sure whose beliefs you are referring to.

You're reading a myth. Mankind does not need jesus to do those things. Men are killing each other without any help from him.

Jesus isn't coming back to kill us all. He is coming back to claim his people (Which are those of us who give our lives to him fully) and to save others. (People like you.) You see, Jesus loves everyone. Whether you love him or not, and he is coming back to save our souls from this sin-filled earth. God Bless and know that I am praying for you.
