Don't confuse belive in GOD and religion.
GOD does not need religion. Religion needs GOD.
GOD and religion are 2 different things.
This question is only about religion. And lets see how many will go balistic with this question while Jesus teaches them to be peacefull.

I'm tired of hearing people explain my faith, when they haven't a clue what they are talking about. I see it time, and time again. If you don't have a Doctorate in Theology from an accredited university, maybe you should know about what your saying before you make yourself look unbelievably ignorant.

Arguably, religions are divisive. "We're of one faith... You're not = We're separate from you". Even an apparently mild divide, like that between Catholicism & Protestantism, presents itself as a chasm over which war is conducted...

Worth consideration is, whether people of power are deliberately using our religious differences in order to pursue their personal & political agendas. Meaning, is it deliberately done in order to make use of our embrace of whichever religious ideology? Are they simply taking advantage of our religious ignorance in order to manipulate us into going along with a political aspiration? -- Or, are they (the ol' powers that be) as convoluted as we are... actually embracing the notion that their "all loving/all powerful God (any name will do)" directs them to behave antagonistically toward followers of varying belief sets?

Basically, are we following people who actually believe as 'we' do? Or are we being manipulated by people according to our beliefs? Given religions' record concerning warfare & general animosity; it's interesting to consider whether we're duped or dubious. It we could somehow discover that we've just been being duped... that would be The Mother of all Conspiracy Theories come to light. What do you think?

If I adopt a child at birth, keep him on a deserted island his entire life, never tell him about religion, Jesus, etc., will he go to hell when he dies, according to Christianity?

I believe that if you claim you have a demonic possession, you are just in a state of mind where you're wrong-doings symbolize evil. There have been tests on people you are speaking in tongues and it showed that there is a part of their mind that stops working when they have a religious experience. The part that stops working is where your brain defines who you are as a person. Your qualities, traits, thoughts, values, are lost when it stops working. So really, you are no longer you and you become a different person acting out. Could this be the same with people claiming the devil has taken over them ? Could they think they are something or someone they are truly not when an exorcist is "removing" the "evil".

Considering the current President's profanity caught on tape, and his previous action of making a rude gesture to the camera while a state governor:

How would you explain to your children, (or teenagers), why using such language and gestures makes one look dross, when the Commander in Chief feels that they are appropriate? Does his free use of them mean that American society no longer looks to their leaders to be role models, or does it mean that we no longer consider swearing as crass?

Not Peace but Division
49"I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed! 51Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. 52From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. 53They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law."?

I know some of my friends that are Christians but have never been to a church or hardly ever pray. Sometimes, I wish I can share how my life has changed for the better since knowing the Lord, but it's hard sharing that with them because it can feel like an uncomfortable subject.

I'm all for Christianity, really, I am. But I need to understand something.

God made the world in seven days, right?
If so, why did he rest?
He's God!!!
God doesn't need to rest. He's God.
That part doen't make sense to me.
Could someone explain?

The God of MOSES brought plagues upon the lands of Egypt for holding God's chosen people captive as slaves. We MUST eject these demons from the USA or we will be the victims of a new plague! How can we get these demons out of our country?!

Were we not founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Are we not the most holy of nations? If we can't fix our country, who can?!

How does that make sense? Also think about angels, demons and Lucifer. I'm not saying that they are all God, obviously, but all polytheism means is the belief in many deities. Demons, angels, and Lucifer are all immortal deities. You don't have to worship them or think they're gods, just believe they exist...

I personally find it disturbing that grown-ups could fall for a sci-fi writer / messiah that believes we come from shellfish, have million year old thetans inhabiting our bodies & that all mental disorders are a hoax of the psychiatric world.

But let me know what you think.

I promise not to sue you for your opinion:)
