If there is a little backround noise and more than 3 people in the room, I let out a silent one. Noise poppers and air whiffers are possible through years of training. If it is dead silent and/or less than 3 people, I ask to use the bathroom.
Now my dad will try to make as much noise as possible to offend as many people as possible. He's been doing that since I was a kid and it keeps getting funnier all of the time.

Excuse yourself and leave the room. Others shouldn't be forced to deal with your bodily functions.

If you think it's going to be soft, just do it and don't say anything. If loud, excuse yourself, and try to hold it in until you get to an open space.
