I have read the bible had it preached to me and have entertained the thought that there was a man called Christ-but what I have found is that he said he came to answer the first book-which is so full of crap that I can't imagine any intelligent person believing the Whole book as literally true. Now I want to prove you are being lied to so that you will give up this hope of going to heaven and try to make this world our mother earth a better place-SHE IS NOT DOOMED as your Bible fortells unless you fall into that lie purported by this BLACK BOOK-We have to save the earth-it is her soul I want to save not mine-Here is your proof that the Romans wrote the book to control the Jews-And God gave Moses 10 comandments (Cesar was giving them to the Jews) well Jew and Christian how many months were in The Roman Calander Year? 10 until Julius and Augustus added there names to the list-what is the basis of all Roman mathematics based upon? Humanity has created many Gods, for example – Gods of Olympus, Ancient Egypt, Babylon and so on. Most of us are atheists about most Gods humanity has created, except the latest craze, the current God in the Bible. Learned atheists have also rejected this version of a God, but some hard-core believers still hang on, presumably until a better image of God is created by man.

Faith in God seems to be nothing more than humans attempting to run away from reality, an excuse to avoid thinking and evaluating evidence. Is faith not just an emotional escape and really just a substitute for opening your eyes to reason?

Believers talk about God creating man in his own image. It’s in the Bible so it’s fact – get a grip, get real. The facts suggest the exact opposite. Man created God in his own image. I’m sure humanity will disregard this God, as they have disregarded all previous Gods, it’s just a matter of time before humanity creates another God that better serves their emotions and image.

Anyone who's read Da Vinci Code or other books about it has heard about some of the references to the 'lost' Mary Magdalene: Ariel in The Little Mermaid, the 'M's' in the Starbucks logo etc. I would love to know where other references to her reside in our popular culture/media etc. (obviously I know many theorize that she's in lots of artwork etc.).

I'm not being funny, this is just a mystery to me. I'm learning sign language and ive seen my teacher who is deaf and cannot speak (i think hes profoundly deaf) holding his phone to his ear. I wouldnt ask him why in case he thought i was being cheeky and im not confident enough. I sometimes go to a pub where a lot of deaf people go and ive seen others holding their phones to their ears as well. Im just curious to know.

My girlfriend is Catholic, and I'm Baptist. I'm a Jesus freak (though, yes I'm still a sinner, duh), but she isn't very devoted to Catholocism. I don't think she's getting anything out of it. She's been to several meetings of our youth group at my church, but she says that those are boring, too. I love her dearly, and want the best for her, especially seeing that although I can't love her forever, after death, then He still can. Anyone who has any advice that WILL ACTUALLY HELP (notice the emphasis) feel free to give it. Atheists, and people who tell me to dump her (or both), don't bother answering. The only place in the bible that the words "faith alone" appear, the words "not by" appear right before it.

And if all we needed is "faith alone" and everyone knows that no matter what they do they will go to Heaven, then why does it say in the bible that we have to work out our salvation with fear and trembling? The goats called Jesus "Lord, Lord", but Jesus separated the sheep from the goats by their deeds.

The Catholic Church teaches FAITH AND WORKS have to go together. Not one separated from the other.

I don't believe God would flood the Earth, destroy a city (Sodom) for any reason, and wouldn't send an Angel to kill the first born's of Egypt.

Because the judeo-christian God did these things, I don't believe in that God.

I'm continually amazed at how scornful the reactions are to Christian principles. True, many have committed hate and atrocity in the name of Christ, but so have those of other religions and those of no religion. Besides, how do the actions of some of the adherents of a worldview become the sole factor for judging that worldview's legitamicy? (Muslims, where you at?) Should it not be based on its historical/scientific veracity? Genuine Christians evangelize out of concern for fellow man. Would you not warn someone if they were driving of a cliff, even if the driver thought you were ignorant/misled/bigoted, etc. You have free will. God does not force Christ on people; neither do genuine Christians. But outreach is an essential part of the faith. Don't ya'll understand that? If you hate my beliefs, then go your way, but don't insult us b/c we reach out to you and desire as many as possible to be saved. The vitriol just shows your close-mindedness.
