I don't believe God would flood the Earth, destroy a city (Sodom) for any reason, and wouldn't send an Angel to kill the first born's of Egypt.

Because the judeo-christian God did these things, I don't believe in that God.

I'll go along with that.

(How many seconds until some godidiot protests that you're "taking it out of context"?)

Thats the thing about belief. If you dont believe he would, then those reasons are valid for you.

In like terms, I believe God would flood the earth, destroy a City, and send an Angel to kill the first borns of Egypt, so that belief validates my belief in that God.

To each his own.

Almost everyday you have a big list of what you don't believe in. Well God did all those things and more, much, much, much more.
And whether you want to believe Him or not is no skin off my nose. Why did God do those things? You want to slam Him all the time, but you've never read His book. Ask Him sometimes what He thinks, He will let you know, for sure.

My question to your statement is, "Then what God do you believe in?"
You and I are NOT perfect. Nor do we have the knowledge that God has which is why you AND I have a hard time understanding why a God would do such things.
God must deal with sin and the only way to deal with sin is through death. I know that does not sound very loving but remember that God is a loving God as well as a just God. He cannot look away from sin and not deal with it.

Welcome back my friend, to the show that never ends.....

But no, I think there are much better reasons than the ones you listed, which seem to imply a belief in some sort of a god, just not bible-god. Circular reasoning, which is usually the thing bible-god believers do.

you invalidate your disbelief by saying that God did these things, therefore you don't believe in Him.

however, you must remember that God admitted that He is a Jealous god. before the coming of Christ in the form of Jesus, we were truly at the mercy of his wrath.

the statement should probably be, that you "dont like" God, because he did these things that we would condemn any other being for doing.

You contradicted yourself. And you never gave a reason why you didn't believe, you just said " I don't believe". Where is your reasoning? Jim, honey, you are going to have to do better than this.

Those reasons are not valid for me. I'm a parent. If I catch some s.o.b. messing with one of my kids, he's dead. God is a parent.
Nuff said.
