Why are athests and other non believers so un funny? I mean c'mon are you reading thier comments, this stuff is lame! There isn't a clever one in the bunch. God love 'em they try, but they just can't get the job done. I'm starting to think I need to bash the good Lord just to help them out. And I'm a devout Catholic! Sorry I don't mean to offend any atheists or non believers by thie question.

God has a plan right? Is prayer to ask God to change his plan because we think we have a better idea? And why pray for the dead? Isn't their fate pretty much decided or can we get a bad person let out of eternal damnation if enough of us plead for his release? How does it work exactly?

I have been following the answers on YA religion questions and it seems like (to me anyway and well, who the heck am I?) that if someone asks a question that doesn’t fall into a belief that you cherish that some (not all- mind you) Christians attack them and say some pretty hateful things. Doesn’t that go against your Christian beliefs of persecution? And if you lambaste someone for believing something different, how can you convert them? If there is a question you find offensive should you turn the other cheek? I am not looking to be persecuted here I am just curious…

Many people who have participated in satanic cults will tesfiy that spirits are real. The most "die-hard" skeptics have been broken down with first-hand experience in these satanic rituals. I think "don't speak until you've done" definitely applies when making fun of the supernatural realm.

I don't wish to stirr up any bad feelings at all and I respect many of the poeople who go to church every week. Its just that I think, well basically that the BIBLE is out of date! How many issues have they done, only one isn't it?!

I think it should be re-written for the modern era, the 21st century. I say this after reading some of this website:

PLEASE TAKE A LOOK http://www.godisimaginary.com

some of the stuff here really is quite disturbing esp. the SLAVE section where the bible talks freely about slavery and how its aye ok to use slaves for your own benefit. How can respectable christians abide by the same book that has this kind of stuff in it?

Decent responses welcome, i'm serious something needs to change. Although I gather many american churches are very much different (happy clappy) with music etc. compared to some of English churches which haven't changed for centuries. Which is probably a reason why britain is the most non-religious country in the world.

When God set the whole thing up, he had to know that everyone wouldn't make it to Heaven. So does he look around now and go "Holy Crap! I didn't think it'd be so many!" or does he go "Yeah I knew most of you wouldn't make it."

i was reading this:

" Basically, the reason Jesus had to die for our sins was so that we could be forgiven and go to be with the Lord. All people have sinned against God. But, God is infinitely holy and righteous. He must punish the sinner, the Law breaker. If He didn't, then His law is not law for there is no law that is a law without a punishment. The punishment for breaking the Law is death, separation from God. Therefore, we sinners need a way to escape the righteous judgment of God. "

The whole story sounds to me like God just wanted to change the statistics. It's the same as if we change a law that allows murder from now on, but only with a sword, for the sole reason to lower the murder-statistics...

Couldn't God just have changed the laws? Why all this drama, this theatre ?

I see this way too much. Please, if you don't know much about something, PLEASE just take a minute to look it up, and not from the bible, it's biased.

A good place to research other religions is www.religioustolerance.org. Yes, you CAN research other religions without converting over to them. Don't worry, the other religion won't suck you in just by reading a few words.
