Im really insecure about a lot of things like my appearance and the way I act when I'm around other people. I always feel like I don't fit in, I won't be accepted and that everyone's better than me. I have a very low self esteem because I'm really skinny. And I have very little confidence, especially at school. What can I do about it? How do I stop being so insecure?

& since that's the case, then why is everyone so repressive (strict) about it? Meaning that they have such negative opinions & shame about it.

What is normally concidered "the wrong way":
Any way: the receiver was just looking for anyone to fight and the look need be nothing more than a casual/unintentional glance.
Intentional staring up & down.
Intentional stare down: to cause to become uncomfortable by gazing steadily/intently at someone.
Intentional scowling: A look of anger or frowning disapproval

I'm involved with a guy that is a great guy, but when he is angry he can be emotionally abusive. We've been together almost a year...off and on. In the time we've been together, I have probably cried more with him than with any other guy. When he is angry he has insulted me, refused to say one word to me, disappear for a couple of weeks and not call or contact me, and not respond to my attempts to contact him either. It is very nerve wracking. I'm in college and last night, we were at the library together, because I had a paper due&he had something to do for his job. He didn't think about the fact that I had a paper due, but instead had me running around the library finding books that he needed. If I refused, he gave me the silent treatment. He also got angry at me towards the time we were getting ready to leave & left me to walk home across campus in the dark by myself, while he drove. Please tell me what is wrong with him? Does he need counseling????

not show emotion? Almost everything I feel people can see on my face and I want it to stop. I want to be closed off to people and don't want anyone to know things but even when I try or don't say I'm upset people know. How can I control my emotions?

what a bag of sh*t they look like. i mean reflection of windows or car door windows, they make ur skin look really dull. i know it sounds stupid but i know a lot of people are concious about their looks and when ever they get the chance do this kind of thing.

I was reading articles about the Robert Pickton case. One of the key witnesses is a drug addict and her testimony is being thrown everywhere, the prosecutor claiming that her memory isn't good enough and that she might have been high at the time of witnessing the remains of a female in one of the slaughterhouses. Do you think that, despite her poor choices in life, she's still a credible witness?

There is this guy I see often at this place of employment. He always seems very friendly with. He always seems out of his way friendly at times. Often times, I notice him checkin me out, or looking at me when I am not looking at him. He does this often - actually, everytime I am there. He makes small talk with me, and asks me how I am and asks about the "weather, etc. I ask him how he is, and he say's "I'm alright" as if he wants to tlak more. (I think). I make it very obvious I am interested in him. I flirt with him, and I am all smiles when I talk to him and quite distracted by him. It's so obvious. Yesterday, I asked his name and he told me, and then I told him mine and he seemed "surprised" - or, maybe like "whatever" when I told him. I don't get it. Is this guy interested in me, or not? I am confused now. I feel he seemed really into me, but, I can't tell.

you feel that your life is falling apart due to:
1) the stress over your final year project (cos you lack of knowledge over this project, and your group mates arent helping you out by leaving you out of discussions cos you cant contribute any suggestions, and also cos they are closer together)
2) you lack of any friends (cos you are so quiet)
3) the only friend you feel *more* comfortable with (compared to the rest) is always so bluntly rude in her comments when you ask for her opinion
4) totally ****** up presentations cos of lack of esteem and stuttering & lisping issues
5) lack of sleep everyday
6) home life also is lonely cos mum often nags and bro cant be bothered with me - we all dont connect
7) too lazy to even attend lessons cos nobody even cares of your existence.

Please help me! Dont suggest support groups please.. Or that I join some club..

I have been very depressed lately and my bf has been very supportive but today I was at work, an internship that I hate and I decided for some strange reason to just get in my car and drive home and then I knew that it was stupid so I just drove back to work. My bf is fed up and he knows that I am trying to get help by seeing a shrink so he told me that he is being very patient with me but he said he can't keep worrying what mood I'll be in and if I'll be very upset or if I'll be happy. I keep saying I am sick of putting him through this but I keep acting like an idiot. After we talked, I texted him and told him that I was sorry for putting him through this and that I loved him, he has not responded. I want to be reassured that he still loves me and go back to all the happy times that we used to share. This is the second time I am putting him through this and I need suggestions on what to do. Please help me!!!! I don't know what I will do without him. I'm sick of loosing people.

Sometimes when you first meet someone you usually either like them or not without any particular reason. Also, some people you've gotten to know, but again for no apparent reason, you just dont like them.. and vice versa.. some people you just can't help liking, regardless of personality etc. Why is that?
