Hi, How do you control a cat!!! Get my point!!! It's hard to control your emotions no matter what you try. It's natural for us to show how we feel and very very hard to try and hide it. Just do your best that's all we can do.

It depends on what emotions and their strengths. If you have really strong emotions, then it's probably best not to hide them anyway. I'm not so sure it's possible to truly and completely hide emotions, but you can definetely trick people into thinking otherwise. If you are feeling sad, let's say, then just smile and tell everyone you're fine if they ask. You'd be suprised how much people will buy into what you say, even if you do seem a little off the mark. Just say something like you're tired if you start to get too quiet and they get suspicious. Try and also to convince yourself that you're fine by talking to yourself in your head. Perhaps you can take yourself out of the situation for a minute, like go to the bathroom, and recompose yourself. Otherwise I can't think of any other way.
At the same time, your emotions are there for a reason. I can't imagine why you'd be so desperate to hide your emotions. If you're bothered by something, you shouldn't just bottle it up. I hope you're not bottling up anything serious. Good luck.

Practice, practice, practice. Especially in front of the mirror, and also with close friends. You've heard of a "poker face", this is where a person attempts to make his/her face completely devoid of expression as not to give away his emotions about his/her hand of cards. It is the same in life, modify your smile, cut the smile in half. Turn your expression which may be going to anger mode into a thinking or concerned look. Practice in front of that mirror. This is a problem I used to have as well, I gave everything I was thinking away by my facial expressions, now, I present with a face who's expressions are very toned down. The only way to achieve this though is practice. Good luck, I know it can be done.

i have trouble showing mine. I'm a very emotional person inside, but never really learned how to express my feelings . I think that's worse, though, because keeping everything inside could lead to depression or make me crazy, plus it makes others think i feel nothing, so that's something i have to work on. But for the opposite problem, i guess maybe the best thing you could do is to put a lot of that emotion, especially your negative emotions into something like poetry or painting or music (the only ways i really know how to express mine), so they won't interfere so much with your daily life. But it's good to have those emotions, though, because they're what make you Human and make you YOU.
