Well, I guess you have to trust those around you, I mean if you are mentally deficient in some ways, they're the people that would know... still I don't like this kind of thinking, just because someone may not know what a tracheotomy (assuming I spelt it right) is, doesn't make them any more or less of a person than anyone else...

Also many things are meant to be challenging, so you might feel daunted but not every mental task is easy to understand... even worse many of them have a whole lot of detail to get caught up in...

Note: A Tracheotomy its a medical procedure to supply air to someones lungs to overcome a blockage in their throat

I went through my life feeling like you..I was successful but always challenged...at 51 took a test and pursued the results and it was confirmed that I had and have ADHD...it was a revelation in my life because for the first time I understood what and who I am...because of not being diagnosed I lived an amazing life because of my off the wall personality..I learned to circumvent my problems and while I got no formal schooling I returned and graduated from a more flexible learning environment...so, the best plan is analyze yourself and get on with life..one classic example of a man living with disorders is Richard Branson, one of the UKs most successful men and he suffers from ADHD and dyslectia and refuses to be treated because he considers it a winning formula...so analyze, be analyzed but be careful of what the remedies are because I find the remedies are far more damaging than the disorder...

Take an IQ test and find out.

Definition of mentally challenged:
Mental retardation (also called mental handicap and the UK Mental Health Act (1983) defines mental impairment and severe mental impairment) is a term for a pattern of persistently slow learning of basic motor and language skills ("milestones") during childhood, and a significantly below-normal global intellectual capacity as an adult. One common criterion for diagnosis of mental retardation is a tested intelligence quotient (IQ) below 70.

Mentally challenged is when you have trouble learning in school. Handling problems is another matter. Some problems take longer than others to handle.

If you serioulsy think you have a problem, ask you family doctor to refer you to someone who can test you.
If you're just getting frustrated, try going to one of those learning centers like Sylvan who should be able to help you figure out the most effective way for you to study and learn.

Watch "Rainman" and "Slingblade". I'm sure you'll realize you're not mentally challenged. You may not be ready for MENSA, but that doesn't mean you can't function in society.

You have typos, but at least you use punctuation. I don't think you're retarded. You may be slow, but you're still smart.

Go to a doctor or ask them at your school. I think they have to tell you if you flunk those tests they give.
