Cut the tomatoes up and put them in a salad. That'll stop them from talking to you and stop you from constantly checking your closet.

This is easy. This actually happened to my wife's best friend.
First, relax. Tomatoes are our friends.
Second, try talking back to them. Ask them why you need to check the closet. Maybe they need your help. (remember the movie the 6th sense--try helping the tomatoes).
Third, remember tomatoes are just as scared of you as you are of them.
Finally, try to overcome your fear by petting one of the tomatoes.
