i am a college student and my first year i was extremely painfully shy and lonely. i think because i was so alone i grew resentful and uninterested in what the other students were doing. those were the things where i felt i didn't belong so i had no interest in parties and football games

then over time i grew out of my shyness more and more.
i started going to football games, and frat parties and out to bars. my favorite was going out to this one open-bar with my friends.
however over time, this bar and other places i used to go to a lot are becoming more popular among the ppl at my school. i have started to lose interest in going there and in fact when i hear someone saying they aregoing to go there, i get annoyed. if i went there right now it'd be packed with ppl from my school, rather than a variety of clientele.
there are also local bars that are considered the college bars here and i dont want to go there
they are filled with ppl frommy school
everybody knows everyone else

Right... A very lovely guy is interested in me and I like him also but he likes me for the wrongs reasons. He thinks im pretty, talented and MYSTERIOUS. This means that when he gets to get close and go out with me he will suss me out and will stop liking me because the reason why he is now with (if he ever will be) is because he does not know me and finds me intriguing. I told him I want to be friends and he said thats ok but its very evident that he is hurting very very much and becomes nervous when hes around me and happy when i compliment him. What do I do??? Does he truely like me???

I'm 23 and my mom had decided to file for divorce. I am angry with my Mom because she had already started dating someone before telling me she was filing for divorce and before even telling my Dad she was filing. I have so much anger and I'm not sure if I will get over it on my own. Do you think I should consider therapy? How much would it help?

I have a severe problemwith my oral and socialcommunication skills, when speaking on a 1 to 1 level I am fine - but when someone else is watching or we're having to discuss and talk in a group I dry up -my mind goes blank and i don't know what to say - I'll have something to say but can't open my mouth - if I try I'll stutter and mumble or the words come out irrationally. It is a serious problem as it's causing me to lose jobs or failing to get them and also my oral based college seminars. My relationshipswith people are terrible- conversations only last 3 lines -I either stop talking as I don't know how to carryon the the conversation or I've just discouraged the other person too much. I'm in my late 20s - i have no friends -the probable result of why my social skills are so underdeveloped. I also find it difficult to keep eye contact. Where could I go for help? I've joinedclubs and extracirricular activitiesbut i am still facedwith these problems -it's a vicious circle. Please help..

with her, or at least in the next ten minutes? And how often does this happen? 90 percent of the women you gaze at or talk to, less or more? Does it feel involuntary? I know your answers will vary and that's cool cause we all do. Just want a general concensus cause I'm curious like that and my guy friend told me this!

my brother plays video games like I do. But the major differance is he throws tantrums over it (he is 22) saying that its bs and the game is cheating and just making excuses for loosing. It gets extremely annoying as I have no problem with the game and know its not faulty in any way. What is the deal with these tantrums he throws whenever he looses.

Any advice/tips is greatly appreciated; and telling me to "just shut up" doesn't work... because I'm not aware that I'm talking too much until the aftermath.

In a discussion with a psychologist at the Dr's practice where I worked she felt this was a bad thing. It is normal to experience negative emotions etc but today we treat them as if they are illnesses and perscribe drugs for them.

In reference to this question:
If atheism isn't a pathology, why are they devoid of any capacity for normal feelings?

They have no sense of fair play,no sense of humor,no sense of right and wrong - nothing, just a mix of nihilism and crypto-fascism. i read their rubbish and truly wonder if God could be responsible for these wretches.

My reply was:

That you can color your thoughts with fancy verbiage doesn't alter reality drastically (chaos theory aside). There is some truth to your statement, yet when stripped of its fancy coloring it is nothing more than to say that atheists are mentally unhealthy. Yes, they are - but not b/c of the reasons you state.. Rather, they label theists as irrational beings when they also harbor some form of irrational "belief" in a substitute "unicorn" (call it music, good sex, etc).

Please comment.
