No its not a freudian slip. A freudian slip would be if you asked "Do you have any boots" but slipping up and saying "do you have any boobs". The main idea is that you are saying something that is not in your conscious awareness. So if you were wondering about her boobs and were asking something completely unrelated and "boobs" came out instead of another word. That experience you had was just a slip of the tongue.

I guess it can be considered a Freudian Slip, but I always thought they were more like a slip of the tounge on a sexual word that just sounds like the word you want to use.
Ex: saying "I need to get some a**", when you meant to say "I need to get some gas"

a freudian slip is usually a result of an unconscious thought according to Freud, for example reading orgasm instead of an organism...
according to Freud that would be a way how to emit certain anxiety...

I dont think that the sister-in-law's boobs are causing him any anxiety...

It could well have been but it might not have been.
Do you want your marriage to last or not?
If you do, assume it was NOT Freudian.

I have been happily married for 12 years and as far as I can tell so has my wife. (Not the Jo Brand gag then)

EDIT don't pay any attention to Freud.
Read any decent biography of him.
He didn't actually help any of his patients really.
Some of them he pretty much screwed them up completely.

If we never say anything we don't mean, then how come,
when my wife wakes me up after I've fallen asleep in front of the telly
and says "Do you fancy coming to bed at all?"
I say "The ducks are riding scooters all over the lawn!"

FREUD??? Nutter!!!
END EDIT

haha yes that absolutely is!
it just means saying something uncensored that you don't necessarily think or even truly wish to say....Though Freudian himself was somewhat of a druggie, ironic huh? but yeah.

Oh dear.
Freud claimed that nothing we ever say is entirely 'accidental' - even mispronunciations or badly chosen words are merely our subconscious trying to escape and make itself known.
So, yeah, rather than laughing you should have slapped him.

No I wouldn't.

I also wouldn't push for an explanation, unless you want an argument.
