I have worked in the Aviation industry for 25 years and know several commercial and general pilots who cant stand to be on a wing or even a ladder and look down. When your in command of the aircraft as pilot you will have some control and the view is not the same. Also you will be so busy mentally most likely you will not think of it. If your old enough(14 or older) go to a local flight school and ask for an introductory flight. Some charge $30-40.00 most do it for free in hopes you will sign up. This way you will know if you need help over coming your fear or that it doesn't effect you flying.

I have heard many memories and in my opinion recognize some those who're both afraid of heights, afraid to fly or both. They discovered to fly with the objective to face their fears and 2 them at the instantaneous are gainfully employed airline pilots. An instructor of mine once instructed me a narrative of a previous student that would get bodily ill after each and every flight. He achieved each and every of the necessary practise and is now a pilot for a okay huge-spread airline. It’s basically as a lot because the man to be certain in the adventure that they could get over their subject matters.

Really your fear of heights will not be an issue in the air. Once you get above the clouds you won't see ground so your sense of going to fall will be a non-factor.

usually fear of heights comes from a sense that you are going to fall. In a plane that won't happen unless something happens to the plane which is a rarity in these days

Yes I can. 1st go to a high area by yourself like a cliff or something like it and slowly go to the edge. Sit for awhile in a place you feel comfortable then move closer to the edge little by little. Go back and do this as much as possible and in time your fear will improve.
Oh! remember if you slip and fall, the fall don't hurt. But the sudden stop is a *****!

I say you go para-sailing or bungee jumping or maybe a ferris wheel...

They wipe the fear of getting hit by the puck (in hockey) out of you by making you put on pads and then pegging you with pucks. So why not do the same for fear of heights? Go up somewhere high and look down until it doesn't scare you?

I'll go with you :o)

I get aircsick on a barstool. But being in the air 41,000 ft doesn't bother me.

Someone witha fear of heights is going to bevery carfeful on a ladder. So itisn't that all bad.
Don't wory about it.
