Ok so i have a pretty good life, its not perfect but whose is? For the past few years (im about to graduate from high school) ive been thinking about what to do with my life. I always thought i wanted a wife and kids but now im having second thoughts. Staying single is starting to sound really good to me. Im not into partying or anything but living alone sounds appealing. Is that normal or is something wrong with me

We all use words to communicate, but we often communicate that we need to go to war. When are we going to start communicating that we need to go to peace? Can humans use language to make peace as good as we do war? If so, we will succeed, if not we will destroy ourselves.
Tell me about how you see yourself using language.

I just broke up with someone that I went out with for a few years a couple of weeks ago. I miss him a great deal. Still rather "broken" feeling about it. As luck would have it - a fellow I find attractive and half-way charming has been flirting with me. Here's the rub - I have been asked out like 5 times in the last 20 years. I cant seem to decide if this new fellow asks me out, if I should say yes, or if I should get over the last one before preceeding in a new direction. The fact of the matter is that I want to deal with some issues that were problems in the last relationship (as in, with a therapist) so that I dont make the same mistakes. However, on the other hand, I dont want to let a rare opprotunity slip by....
Any advice?

Because of my low self esteem i don't have confidence. I don't want to "just be myself" because i don't LIKE myself. I hate that i'm lazy, anti-social, quiet, introverted, socially un-equipped, amongst other things.....I wish i was outgoing and confident, but i've tried pretending to be outgoing and confident, and afterwards i felt fake and not myself....What should i do? Your answers are appreciated.

I'm 32 and have an wonderful husband of the same age. We've been married for 7 years and he's truly exceeded all my expectations of married life. He's always told me he would do absolutely anything for me but if I were to ever cheat on him, that'd be a deal breaker for him.My husband travels every few months on business leaving me alone for 1-2 weeks at a time with nothing to do but shop and socialize. He's always had an issue with me having my ex boyfriend who was at one time his best friend in my life.I chose my husband over the ex and that effectively ended the friendship.I've had no contact with the ex out of respect for my husband but when the ex recently invited me to attent a fundraiser with him while my husband was away I couldn't refuse. With the help of a little champaign I ended up sleeping with the ex.I hate myself for what I did and would give anything to take it back.Do I tell my husband and lose everything or do I keep quite and live with the guilt?

I'm a 26 year old girl who hates herself. I'm still in college working on my last two quarters for a B.A. and so I feel like a loser. I'm so self concious of my looks even though most people who know me consider me to be pretty. On the inside I hate myself and I'm so ashamed that I won't even have my picture taken. I feel embarassed to even go outside and interact with people because I know I'm ugly. I have a close friend who seems to have everything and always seems to out-do me at everything. This makes me hate myself more and more and makes me more ashamed of who I am. What should I do aside from therapy? I've already made an appointment with a therapist. Anyone had this problem and overcame it? How?

I have depressionI was dumped 5 months ago. Can my depression contribute to this? I can't forgive and move on unless his evil deed was recognized. How can I gain closure without boosting his ego? I have tried to forgive, forget, and move on, but on a phychological point of view I can't unless someone tells him about what he did was wrong, a chance to vent my anger to him, and when he apologizes. I am desperate. I have tried many other methods and they haven't worked for me. Is revenge a good idea? Or finding a new boyfriend? How can I force him to apologize? Please help. I need my life back.

I met a 25 yo girl at church last month. she seems confident and she keeps wanting to start a conversations with me.

She asked for my email and phone number one night which I politely gave her so she can send me additional info on the group which she did. why did she need my phone number?

Last week when she was leaving church with her friends she told me we can have coffee to discuss anything. I took no notice at the time.

Last night I saw her at church gathering. We made about 5 silent eye contacts in which she keeps looking away. She started small talk with me again. During the night I notice we kept making silent eye contacts. She would look away quickly. but when she was leaving she hardly gave me a nice goodbye like she did with my friend. Why?

This girls actions are confusing...

I know there are some marriage where people try and justify their behavior because of the other persons actions (ie I cheated because she wouldn't have sex, clean the house, etc). I also know there are people who love their spouses and have no real complaints and yet they still cheat. Why do you think each sector cheats and is there anything that can be done to prevent this?

Under what circumstances do you think giving up and quitting is a good idea?
I'm not talking about smoking or other bad habits. I'm talking about giving up at something you set out to do. When is this ever a good thing? I don't know...I'm asking!

I am all about strong, buff women who can hold her own and kick a** if necessary, but I hate the new trend in movies.

Lately, there have been a lot of movies where the tough chick gets into a physical fight with a man. Even if she "wins" the fight, he still gets a few good punches in.

What happened to teaching boys that it's never okay to hit a girl?

Movies like these make it look like girls can hold their own if a fight with a guy. That women should be able to defend themselves like most guys can.

Even if the girl is superhero strong (which is almost never the case in real life) and can actually win a fight with a man, I don't think that movies should depict men punching and kicking women.

Any thoughts?

What I'm trying to find is the scientific explanation for how people view the world based on their own personal experiences. For example. The glass with the water...is it half-full or half-empty? those who see it as half-full have a tendency of being positive and those who see it as half-empty have a tendency of having a negative outlook on life. Can this be scientifically/ psychologically backed up?

in other words how would you act if you didnt know how everyone else was acting?
