Whats the best way to cheer someone up when they are always depressed?

So last night I had one of those simple little dreams where nothing really happens. I was with my ex-girlfriend's mother and her cousin. We were walking around a shopping mall doing nothing.

I woke up and it actually took me a couple of minutes to realize that both my ex-girlfriend's mother and her cousin have been dead for several years. I was never very close to either, didn't find out about either's passing until sometime after that fact, and it has been nearly 10 years since I have seen my ex. I have no clue where this dream came from or what it might mean.

Any ideas?

this girl i knew back in highschool killed herself thursday night i guess
i've talked to her a quite a few times since high school but we were never really in the same crowd cuz i was a shallow guy in high school and didn't talk to her because i thought she was ugly

but i got to know her after high school and we've talked a lot in the last 4 years since then
but a lot of my friends were still teasing her i guess because she killed herself because of it her sister found her journal to see if there were any clues about her wanting to kill herself today and told me about it when i went over to see what i could do for them

i guess a lot of guys were making fun of her calling her ugly and telling her she looked like a guy and telling her she should live in sewers... well it said that in her journal anyway

i just dont understand why she would let shallow ppl bother her to the point to killing herself when she told me she didn't let it bother her in high school...

I've been extremely anti social lately.
I turned down my friends invitations to go out, to stay at home.
I've been kinda depressed too.
What should I do for the rest of the night?

How come I don't mind the AC being on in the car at night, but any time during the day the AC gets me sick? It's only during the day that it makes my head hurt and give me a stomach ache. But when I"m in the car at night and the AC is on, i like it . lol
any weird ideas?

i think about death a lot and the end of the world... it scares me so much... sometimes i cry because im so scared, why though... i dont understand how some people are so content with thinking that once u die u just die... never to remember ur life or the people u knew.. its just like ur gone... just thinking about this makes me shiver and ugh... plz just explain because then maybe i can start to look at things differently.

For my college class, we are doing a project on how women's violence is often ignored. I am looking mainly for opinions here. Do you think women get off too easily for violent crimes? Why is it when a woman slaps a man in a movie it is funny or brave but when a man slaps a woman he is automatically a jerk? Beyond just our biological differences, what role does society play?

I've been a sad kid my whole life and ever since I hit high school, I've dealt with depression in secrecy. My parents think I'm sad but they think its just a 'teen phase' and that I'm just a f*cked up kid. And since theyre traditional East Indians, they wouldnt understand any of this. How do anti-depressants treat depression, when should you take them, and is there any quick, secret way to get them? I'm only 16. I dont want to make a big mess out of this and want to keep it secret.

I had taken a taxi in a ghetto area of a big city. The taxi pulled into an alley where a gang was hanging out. One of the guys comes over to me and takes out a gun and shoots me in the head and I died.

somedays i wake up and i just feel horrible... most of the day i find myself crying and i dont even know why.. and even if i try and cheer up.. its like not possible. what do i do? how do i get those days to go away... and why do i even do this????


( but i do have good days too ) its just every now and then i have these kinds of days. and i find myself listening to sad music and just sobbing to it for hours. why do i do this?

A friend of mine took a tv from thre house i moved out of while it was waiting to be picked ip from rent way what happendwas i moved away quick and i could not afored to pay for the tv so they was suppose to pick it up but before they did he took it now the police have the tv and hes telling them i gave it to him now they want to charge me with stealing the t v and giving it away what do you think of this situation

Just curious because my teacher told us in class yesterday that everyone has had thoughts of suicide and so if they need to talk to someone they should.
Some ninth grader killed herself because guys were making fun of her for being ugly. I think that is a stupid reason to kill yourself, I don't why she wouldn't just get over herself. Everyone has been teased as well. I was teased last year because I had sat on chocolate and it looked like poo, so for weeks I was called poo pants, but I just laughed it off.

I dunno I just can't imagine it. I'm only 15 though, so maybe I'll have the thougths in the future?

So have you had thoughts? I jsut want to see how true this is.
