So last night I had one of those simple little dreams where nothing really happens. I was with my ex-girlfriend's mother and her cousin. We were walking around a shopping mall doing nothing.

I woke up and it actually took me a couple of minutes to realize that both my ex-girlfriend's mother and her cousin have been dead for several years. I was never very close to either, didn't find out about either's passing until sometime after that fact, and it has been nearly 10 years since I have seen my ex. I have no clue where this dream came from or what it might mean.

Any ideas?

I had a big conversation with my mom about that the other day.

I was telling her how I have 2 different types of dreams about dead people/pets. One is like the one you explained where your hanging out with the (dead) people or they make a cameo appearance or something. You usually recognize them and know who they are but you're not at all thinking about how they are dead. Basically just like a regular dream. You wake up and then realize that they are dead.

The other type I have (only a few times) is that I'm hanging out with these (dead) people or they are standing around watching me but I KNOW they are dead in the dream. I know that they are not supposed to be there. Those dreams are always different in that I have a feeling like it's a suspended moment in time. Sometimes there are 1 or 2 extra (dead) people there, but I don't always know who they are. I'll pretty much know if it's a man or woman and that they have something to do with me/my life, but I can't put my finger on who they are.

Sounds silly, but I came up with a theory that maybe the first type of dream (where you don't realize they are dead) is just a normal dream that doesn't mean much. Something may have reminded you subconsciously of these people the day before and it came up in a dream. The second type (when you know they are dead) is (could be) some sort of visitation. I felt that worked for me, probably different for everyone.

Just let me add that I am not religious at all, I have no idea what happens after you die and I don't believe in any gods or anything. I don't think there is anyway to know the truth about this stuff, at least in this life.

he's either been playing games, watching cartoons, watching commercials, or seeing movies. Ask him what he's done in the "past couple of days" to see what he's seeing (something he did see is in his memory). His dreams are what he remembers from what he called fun, but they mixed with reality in his dreams and frightened him. He has a creative mind as well and has also put his own input to what he dreamed. I remember seeing a commercial last night that sounds like what he dreamt. Maybe he doesn't recognize it was a commercial, or maybe he was doing something in the room when that was on and it merely affected his subconscious.

Its possible that thre spirits of your ex's mother and cousin are coming to you in your dreams. Could it be that they are trying to send you a message or that they want you to deliver a message to your ex ? Many times spirits come to us in our deams because its when we are open to them. Try to remember more details of the dream, there may be a message there. Maybe you should reach out to your ex, maybe then the reason for their visit will become apparent.

Notice how this dream made you think of your ex. Maybe you should get in touch with her, go have coffee, see how her life is and how she is doing. Just be polite and caring. Dont be fake, or super inqusitive, just care! Hope this helps!

The mind is a strange thing. I don't think it means anything. At least, I wouldn't stress about what messages someone might be sending me. :)
