Psychology - September 2006

I've been previously diagnosed as having generalized anxiety disorder and social phobia, but I think this (seemingly stronger) diagnosis of "avoidant personality disorder" fits me to a tee. From the diagnostic criteria listed on wiki:

> Avoids occupational activities that involve significant interpersonal contact, because of fears of criticism, disapproval, or rejection

I definitely avoid all such activities that I can.

> Is unwilling to get involved with people unless certain of being liked

I suppose this is accurate. I am certain I will not be liked, thus I am sure that attempting to "get involved with people" is something I should not do.

I keep having a dream that I commit suicide and am floating around from house to house trying to get people to notice me, and I go completely insane.

At first I didn't think anything of this dream, but I've had it over and over again, and it's getting under my skin.

Do you think dreams tell us anything?

Agroraphobia is a very dibilitating phobia, it stopy you from interacting with the outside world, and in extreme cases like my wifes it even makes her too scared to answer the phone, even to friends. She can not talk to people or answer the door to family, and even seeing someone walk down the road makes her panic.

So can you imagine being claustrophobic as well, you would be terified of going out and terified of stopping in. this must be the definition of HELL.

What would you rdefinition be?????

Ok, I know not allll men are. If you're one who's not obsessed, obviously this question's not for you. Whenever I ask a guy friend or boyfriend they either say "I dunno" or "they're nice" To me, they're just boobs. Whoop dee doo. Does anyone know exactly why men are attracted to large ones. I catch myself saying to men, "Hello!!!!!! My eyes are up here!"

we have been together since june 4th and we just clicked like that.. i love him and he loves me.. nobody thinks we should be together and its getting to the point where my parents and his dont want us talking at all.... Should i be able to atleast talk to him? if not see him while parents are there or something? My mama wants me to wait until im 17 thats 2 years i dont know if he will wait that long for me..

I have these episodes where I just freak out coz of the smallest things or no reason at all. I can't help but to think about anything but about death, chaos, and morbid things. I often write poetry about them and draw the grim reaper. Im not a gothic person Im a really nice person. I stay to myself. I forget who I am from time to time too. Normal stuff bugs me like at school I can't stand the napkin holder at my table to be right side up it has to be upside down. Things like that anyone know what is wrong with me or if there is something wrong with me?

It seems that as people change from children to adults, a lot of them lose their creative spark. Less want to draw or paint, less want to create music..et cetera. Even using this spark for business becomes stifled by many. What might be going on in the heads of these people that they would stop doing this?

I dont know about you guys but i'm sick of being nice and doing good all the time and getting nothing (no praise, no memory of good acts, or if they do, they seem trite). Though the moment i step a foot wrong, people come down on you like a ton of bricks and they NEVER forget what you've done, despite what they say. What do you think? are people capable of forgiving or at the very least.. forgetting? and if not what can we do? human's are always going to be erring, are we always going to hate each other and be at war?
