Everything is some combination of both genetics and the environment (nature and nurture), including personality and even physical appearance. For example, most babies are born with two arms; there is a very strong probability that the gene that calls for two arms will be expressed. This is the genetic/nature part. However if there are certain problems with the environment in the womb, two arms may not develop (as was the case with the drug Thalidomide). As far as personality, a person might be genetically predisposed to alcoholic addiction or be a risk-taker simply because his/her parents were. And the experiences a person has throughout life will influence personality as well. And as for the brain, I think it's a bit circular; your personality can affect the way your brain perceives things, which could affect the way you act, contributing to your personality. That's just my opinion though. Hope this helps!

Surely they're all factors in the development of a personality.

A personality is developed through experience. The type of personality depends upon a number of the most influential experiences had during development.
