In my expereince, the people I've come across who'd I'd say were highly intelligent usually weren't the happiest people. Often, they felt a bit misunderstood and were very sensitive, which made their feelings get hurt easily.

Ok so i asked "what is Freud's uncanny theory?" and a user on Answers had this opinion about him:

"Yes, the "uncanniness" of it, is that he has been proven through psychological research to be wrong about nearly all of his theories. The only ones not proven wrong are the ones that can't be confirmed or disproven through research. This was the problem with Freud - he just theorized, made things up from one or two observations of people that were not healthy mentally! And then tried to generalize this to the average population. If you know anything about statistics, research methodologies and science, you would know that Freud is a joke!

Keep in mind that he smoked more than 12 cigars a day and he was addicted to cocaine. He took his life in the end, through an increase in pain medication because he couldn't stand the pain from the cancer and the cocaine addictions. He is an embarrassment to the science of Psychology!"

everytime I smell something coconutty, my hormones turn on.. like tonight I went out to eat and the waitress had on this coconut perfume and whoa, I suddenly felt like kissing her. maybe this goes back to the time my first girlfriend and I went to the beach and she rubbed me all over with coconut oil, but maybe somebody knows if coconut has something in it that's supposed to cause me to react like this?

Say they're a slow learner and get some things backwards all the time, but they LOVE hard math classes or they're anxious in social situations but LOVE acting classes & public performances. Is there a psychological term for that type of person or is it simply "determination," "stubbornness," etc.?

Alternately, how can they learn not to need challenges to be happy? Or is that okay for them always to seek one?

I'm not talking about things I can't change, but important priorities like planning for a career. I feel like something is wrong if I don't make every day productive because I sometimes get stuck in a rut and fall behind. Sometimes I dread starting another day and wasting more time or having to do more work. At the same time, I don't want to be complacent and lulled into a false sense of security.

What's the point really? Even if they aren't masturbating to it, do they still find it sexually stimulating?

Or are they coming up with ideas for new things to try?

Or is it just curiosity - to see what various women look like?

Or is it just mildly entertaining - something to do when they're bored?
