I'm not talking about things I can't change, but important priorities like planning for a career. I feel like something is wrong if I don't make every day productive because I sometimes get stuck in a rut and fall behind. Sometimes I dread starting another day and wasting more time or having to do more work. At the same time, I don't want to be complacent and lulled into a false sense of security.

It's also hard to take it slowly when I see that everyone is already ahead of me.

You descrided like you need to do something , else time is wasted and you are left behind.

Perhaps you want to search your heart what is your priority , be very objective, assess it seriously , consult others if you can, then sit down and decide what you want .

once decided , go full swing , be delegence , discipline and determine to achieve what you decided to get.

at the stage of deciding what you want is the stage you will feel like lost, missing other things if you do this ( opportunity cost ) ,
undecisive, frustrated because can not decide what to do.

after you have decided , you will have so much peace.

Hence, consult people who are experienced and gather more information during the decision stage then sit down list out the advantages and disadvantages or each choice , prioritized it and
make your final decision. Once decided , do not think about whether it is the best or not, just commit yourself to do it , hit obstacles , still determined , do not give up , most of the success story goes through this stage. Good Luck.

Don't worry about what other people are doing. That's out of your control. As a matter of fact that is my answer. Don't worry about things that are beyond your control. You can't change the past and you can't change the future. But, you will figure out your career in time which will direct your future.

I am 41 years old and I am changing careers. As a matter of fact, I am back in college with my wife working and supporting the family (we have 3 kids). If I worry, it won't change anything, but it will make everybody misserable!

My point? Do what you gotta do, but try not to worry. Wish you the best!

you don't know the future, but the present is making part of the future.

Accept the eventuality that you may become a miserable failure with nothing to show for your life. That way if something good does happen then it is just a bonus.

Know that there are things you can control, and things that you can't control. I promise, what ever happens tommorow, the grass will still grow and the birds will still poop on your car.
